I've tried the BugNut, PVA and NSS. The BugNut is nice but leaves a large gap between the shank and nut. The PVA works well and looks nice if your open-end wrench does not slip during the installation process. This tends to leave a shiny spot or at worst rounds off the corners. I ultimately went with the NSS for a few reasons. Outstanding customer service and they are the only manufactures that advertise any details on the manufacturing process i.e. squared and trued and heat treated to a range of 38 to 42 Rockwell hardness. Not to say that other manufactures don’t do this, but it’s not mentioned anywhere on there website. It’s a little more money for a wrench if you don’t have one but it will not slip like an open-ended wrench will.

I will say one other good thing about pva nut, if you want to put a setscrew in it to make a "shouldered" barrel, it is nice for that. Parallel flats to put in a drill press to drill and thread hole is handy. Mock up headspace, mark flat that is below stock line, disassemble and drill and tap. Reassemble and headspace, then blue loctite setscrew in place.
