Cop who fatally shot woman in Fort worth resigns...may be charged

If I see flashlights in my yard, I’ll have a gun in my hand when I walk out of the door. If I’ve committed no crime, I don’t expect to be shot by the police.

Do the police actually have the right to enter your property without a warrant or owners permission? If so, I disagree.

It’s a damn shame you have to worry about Both sides of the law killing you in your own home when you’ve done nothing wrong...

Ya you’re right, next time I get a call of a crime in progress at a residence, i’ll go to the office first, whip out a warrant, run it over to a judge to get it signed, theeeeeen head on over to the house. Is that really what you expect? Certainly you can think of at least one situation where the cops can and should walk up to your front door, or look in a window, or go in your back yard?

Judge wouldn’t sign the warrant, sorry bro, better luck next time....

I personally as well as many of my immediate family have had my rights violated as well as physical and financial damage more times by cops trespassing than criminals. I guess it was my fault though since my parents never had enough money to get us to the other side of the tracks. If there is ever a situation I can’t handle then nobody with a badge would be there soon enough anyways. I’ve known a few people that while their house was being shot at the cops were down the road waiting for the shooting to be stopped. So yes stay off my property. Up here as opposed to Texas (my state of birth and 33 years minus mil service) I have to worry about brown bear coming through my door more than anyone with a badge. Rest assured though I can stop anything that breathes. I have nothing but love and respect for anyone that follows the constitution and wears a uniform. I got nothing but assorted metals in different shapes and sizes for anyone who can’t or won’t follow the constitution regardless of weather they wear a uniform or not. It’s a lot easier for a cop over here to refuse a unlawful order than a soldier over there. Don’t ask me how I know.

Guess your neighborhood is different than mine. I grew up around millions of people and thousands upon thousands of cops. I have zero stories like yours. How could this be?

I grew up in and around Houston. I went to schools were I was the minority and even in middle school knew who all the gang members were. So forgive me if I sound a little jaded. There are situations were it would be expected for you to enter a house or backyard. You might be quick to admit that fine line is often taken advantage of. I’m glad you were able to have a normal childhood and hope you treat everyone as a person until they give you a reason not to. I know you deal with people that deserve it though. Pm me and I’ll give you enough info to pull up everything you have access to.

And as a interesting side note.. 2 years ago I had a flashlight shine in my window while I was home alone. I grabbed my streamlight and my para 45 daily carry, and shined right back. Then a knock on my door so I went to low ready and opened it. Saw it was a trooper and set it down in plain sight. Then we started talking. Turns out he was looking for my meth head neighbor (duplex) so I was eager to help. We talked for a while and I called him every time he showed up. A few months later I saw him on the front page news in a orange jumpsuit for underage girls. My neighbor had a list of underage girlfriends. At no time did he even reach for his pistol that night. It’s very interesting how cops interact when they know and accept everyone is armed.
Not every police officer should carry a gun.
actually not every police officer should be a police officer.. it’s a higher standard than the 2nd

This is how things normally go, tens of thousands of times a day in this country.

Well, since cops are reactionary with no duty to protect, I’d rather you not step foot on my property.

You’d only be useful, and even then limited, as an investigative service if my home was broken into.

The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the nephew stated that his aunt pointed her gun at the window before she was shot.
The waters are getting muddy!! It's probably only going to make a difference in his sentence but that's only going to inflame the masses to destroy more property.

Not that it matters, he should not have shot into a house, but the nephew says that she grabbed her gun from her purse and had it in her hand.
Something to muddy the water and may get him a light sentence. Which will probably cause a little tiff by the oppressed.

What should it matter when it comes to trial or sentencing? A reasonable person would react the same way that woman did when confronted with an unknown prowler around her house.

Because to her that's all that cop was: an unknown prowler lurking about in the dark.

"SHOW ME YOUR HANDS" isn't any way a police officer needs to identify himself.

Prosecutors need to pursue this with every bit of zest and energy they pursue charges on ‘we the people’.

Present the facts, let the jury sort it out.

If i felt as some here, i’d post signs on my property stating to all that without a warrant, stay off the property, no matter the circumstance. Easy enough to do, and i bet law enforcement would respect it. Not saying these folks are wrong; if it is your property, you’ve got a right to that. If you feel that way, do it up.

A few dogs in a fence work better. If you have a small enough yard to fence in.

So here is some interesting stuff.
The officer involved has ties to an entity accross the street from me.
On watch for any protest type activity.

Head on the swivel as always called pd when 2 people tried to gain entry to the facility
By attempting to open 4 different locked doors. The people were out of place looking.

Thats when I learned of the connection.

I will be a little more vigilant and pd said they welcomed my observations since
They did not want to draw attention to the site.

Wife asked why 12 gauge was upgraded to living room status. Lol

Unfortunately, today, they just become convenient moving targets.
Sad but true.. but if someone is shooting in my yard without declaring they are getting shot. If they catch me in the wrong mood they still may be dead for attacking my family and/or livestock without a warrant. Things must change one way or the other. You can only do so much wrong hiding behind big brother before big brother has no authority or respect.

Agree 100%, except when it comes to sympathetic judges and/or juries handing out the sentence.
Just look at the recent case. 10 years for shooting a guy eating ice cream and watching TV on his couch. The judge then gets off the bench and gives a hug to the murderer that texted her lover instead of rendering assistance all the while screaming her defense of being a mistake.

Ruling will be guilty BUT extenuating circumstances so.........10 years with a walk in three.
I have money to wager.

I'm not a rapist but if I were I'd dress up like a cop to do my rapin'.

I'm still not convinced this officer wasn't going to cover his bodycam and then rape that woman. Why did he not identify himself? There is a procedure for this which he didn't follow given more than enough time to do so at all. Who knows why he didn't. We do know that the law was out of order that night, is it so crazy to assume that maybe this dick wolf was hungry? We don't know, because he shot her by accident before he could get any real initiative together whatsoever— that is save the creeping around like a fucking paedophile while inspecting literally everything except the subject of his call.

Texas has already had at least one serial rapist dressing as a cop pulling cars over late at night and raping women.

Yeah no one has had property or other crimes committed against them, called the police and they did zero to help and the victim will never call police again.

Always around to extort money and enforce some BS unconstitutional law.
Or come up with new ways to try and violate the constitution like "safety checkpoints"
