It looks like Bergara is putting out a bolt action .22lr rifle, 1 in 16 twist, 18inch barrel, threaded muzzle, HMR stock, 9.25lb

I was going to pick up the CZ457 Varmint if i found a good black friday deal but i think i'll wait till i hear some reviews on this rifle first

A sample size of 1 (mine) shot poorly and was the first review on Snipers Hide. But other people have them in-hand and we're waiting for their input on accuracy. Mine is currently at BPI (Bergara USA) being checked for the cause of the inaccuracy and other issues minor issues. I suspect that mine was a one-off problem child (accuracy-wise) based on other preliminary reports.

Something else to remember is that the BXR002 is a carbon fiber barrel where the B-14R isn't. Bergara has a good reputation when it comes to building rifles and barrels. I don't expect them to screw up that reputation by building junk 22LRs.

I think a bigger question is for an price of about $1000, why this over Tikka/CZ + a good scope or chassis. I don't know how much accurate it can be compare to a vudoo or anschutz

Some people simply will want to shoot without going through the effort to customize a rifle. Something like the B-14R might just be the ticket for them. Or maybe the already use a Bergara B-14 and want the same rifle in 22LR to practice.
