I am itching to assemble a bolt action from a stock remington 700 barreled receiver in 6.5 CM into a magpul pro stock. The thing is I already have a Ruger PR in 6.5 cm and a Christensen Arms MPR in 6.5. My reasoning is that I want to keep the round count down on the MPR to save it for hunting, and The RPR is on a semi permanent loan to my Dad. The cost would be roughly 1350 Total for the rifle. I will put a primary arms platinum scope on it to keep the “cheap” theme going. Would be used as a long range toy and maybe competitions.
The thing is I am not going to lose interest in this hobby and could allocate more funds for a really nice set up but I like to tinker and am a cheap MF at heart. I think the magpul stock looks pretty legit but the action might leave me wishing I sprung for something a little bit pricier. It would be nice to cut my teeth on that barrel and then move up to some next level stuff though.
I could just stop buying guns though. How many do I need? Just kidding....
