Today's budget discussions around the state hopefully included Brain Moran's proposed $4 million dollar, 18 positions to over see the ban on assault weapons as stated in his departments portion of the budget. So far the Richmond new stations are just reporting on teachers wanting more pay increases after just getting one.

That group of WV prison guards fired for the photo of them giving the Nazi salute is looking for work... these guys would be perfect for this job

Raise your hand if you are interested in taking some firearms away from some country rednecks.

Life insurance is recommended for this position but not provided.

P.S.- Could evolve into a lifelong position

WILL EVOLVE INTO A LIFELONG POSITION.

But I think they’re gonna need to budget a whole lot more funding for the coroner’s office.

$220,000 per person. How much does an MRAP cost?

Not much more if I remember. For some reason 350k comes to mind, but that was 15 years ago. Was a 3521, used to work on them. All they do is keep you alive, mostly. Not unstoppable with enough boom and the right spot. Don't plant it in the middle, plant it long in the sides and take the wheels out.

Road side bombs in America, that is something I thought I would never contemplate.

Well, today I offered to a fellow rifle Smith I know in the sovereign state of Va. All of my shop resources for whatever they may need. I pray it is never needed, but I will stand with them for freedom, forever.

Just so you all know, I'm a direct descendant of Eli Whitney. I'm also related to Seth Warner of the Green Mountain Boys. A long line of freedom fighters.

Because law abiding citizen actually means something to our side of the isle. The better question is why is he still in office and not kicked out?
True. I know that’s why, but to win a war, you got to play by the same rules! The evil dems have upped those rules and seem to be upping them everyday giving the law abiding citizen a big fuck you!

The answer why is he in office, because they have allowed foreign criminals to invade your state purposefully so thy can fulfill their dream of tyranny!

Does it pay a shit ton. Probably not.
But if it did, what if some pro 2a people applied but just lied their asses off to get in. Then just do a shitty job like politicians already do.
“ Dang boss, they got away again those pesky gun owners. They always get away. MRAP always breaks down etc.”

Get fired eventually but take the hopefully kick ass pay and reinvest into pro 2a stuff. Be like Santa, AR’s and ammo for all the good American boys and girls.
When people use your own money to screw you over fuck’em in the neck every chance you get.

Would be great to get a mole in there to tip off home owners of the pending raid. wouldn't take long to go through 17 if you knew they were coming just a couple times.

I’m betting it wouldn’t be long before their staging area was known....

The thing about it is: Who’s going to be stupid enough to take the job?

Northam is not a leader and along with sycophants just a bunch of petty tyrants. It amazes me that they continue to double down on their agenda when it is opposed by so many. He needs to be removed from office.
He’s personally threatening incarceration or death to nearly 3 million tax-paying productive citizens for exercising their Constitutional Rights. That sure sounds like the description of a terrorist act if you ask me!

As a former Va. state employee, I have to believe the applicants would be vetted. The successful applicants would probably be a combination of youth (liberal education/brain dead/unable to think for themselves), law enforcement, and solid verifiable democrat background. The positions will likely not pay as much as one would believe. Va. still has decent benefits which would be an added draw. This group will do what they are told and do so with zeal--they believe all the anti-gun BS after all. I'm not sure if this group will actually engage in enforcement. If something bad happens to one of the clan, I suspect they will double down. The question is what happens if things really go sideways. If they start getting threats or worse and LE can't/won't do much, the dynamics change. It is still hard to believe this state has fallen this far--and we are no where near the bottom...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this not even a law yet?

When the first Virginian with balls actually engages in a firefight trying to protect his god given Constitutionally guaranteed rights......The million dollar question will be.....Are other Patriots close to that person going to join in on the fight or will it be.......

You are correct, none of these policies are law yet. We are seeing a delude of proposed bills which the incoming General Assembly will deal with in the 2020 year. These bills will go thru the normal process of committee debate/change, then if they move forward, to the House and Senate for debate/change and possibly a vote, in which case it will go to the Governor for his signature and only then will be a law.

So obliviously the Governor is somewhat jumping the gun here, and showing his true strong feelings of support for the proposed law.

Note that the Democrats control both legislative and executive branches here, for the first time in a long time. However, their control of the General Assembly is tenuous with maybe 10 of the House Delegates (of the 55 they have) representing counties that are currently 2A Sanctuaries and maybe 3 to 4 of their 21 Senators are in similar exposed positions.

We vote for the House and Governor again in Nov '21 and the Senate in '23. Clearly we need to make better choices this next go.

Also, I will add a comment on our Governor. He actually supports abortion after the birth of the child! This is outright murder in my book, something like a "law" that the Nazis might have had back in the day. It is a sad statement indeed that such an individual could find enough voting support to become our top executive official.

It would be lol if one of the christian fundamentalists took exception to this and gun owners didn’t have to lift a finger. Or would that be press a finger

I left Virginia three months after the 2017 election when the dems trounced the GOP, after which they held on by a shoestring their legislative majority, and the state resoundingly voted Hillary in 2016. The writing was on the wall then for where the political needle would eventually fall, as the 2017 election was a windfall moment for the libs in the state and the Governor was endlessly pursuing gun control at that point. Happily, I was never really a Virginian in any way, only there because I refused to live in Maryland after my ex moved there with my kids, and Virginia was the lesser of the two evils. My wife and I couldn't escape soon enough.

The Virginia state's citizenry has fallen to massive reliance on social programs, constantly being compared to Maryland as "not doing enough" only energized the voters to put more money into their own wallets at the expense of the working. It's becoming a tax hell there, with income redistribution becoming the norm and the government becoming the preferred solution to their problems because they have no desire to work to better themselves when they can call on Uncle Sugar to do it for them. Their proximity to DC (as well as the mil industry based Hampton Roads) and the massive government employment rate as well as reliance on government funded projects within the private sector, only increased their institutionalization and reliance on the .gov teat. The fact much of the state was resilient to the recession due to government employment increases solidified their perpetual belief that bigger government is the solution to all their woes.

There should be zero surprise Virginia is headed the way it is, as this ball started rolling years ago.

Man, how times have changed in VA. I grew up in N. VA in the 80's and 90's. Learned to shoot at Blue Ridge Arsenal and the Izaak Walton League. It was a great place to grow up and the state was conservative from top to bottom. I saw the writing on the wall 15 years ago and got the hell out of there. Between the DC bureaucrats and the illegals that were flooding the area, it was time to go.

Feel bad for you guys living their now and having to deal with these scumbags. The problem is Northern Virginia, basically an extension of Maryland and DC. Southern VA needs to secede and form its own state.

If you believe in the constitution
Take a deep breath and let it do its magic.
No unconstitutional law has been passed yet, if they do that about 2 minutes later Maybe a federal judge will put a stop to it pronto.
It will probably end up in Scotus.
Maybe drag on (delay it) until you can
Unass him recall or vote him out.
Prioritize your tactics.
By all means protest a lot (peaceful).
Explore all legal methods and means.
Plan for the unexpected (contingencies).

Question: does red flag laws apply to him and his A.G.?
He was threatened everybody with lethal force.
I have a little faith in Trump and don't think he would hesitate to support Virginia Americans.
It's sad it takes a shit show like this to motivate people, Maybe other states will follow?

No I am not high and I wasn't referring to any other laws that have been passed.
This one hasn't yet and dumbdick and his AG haven't kicked in any doors yet.

I personally support the Virginians and they have support from some neighboring states and across the country.
I just hope it's done right.
There's a lot to do legally before someone has to make a decision to pull the bang switch. I hope it doesn't happen.
The left (Bloomdick) probably picked the wrong state to Fuck with.

Somehow I think the 18 person team is just an administrative structure.

If you can find any govt projects that have a smaller budget I'd be amazed.

The 18 will be assigned the task of implementation (manpower, vehicles and staffing) and creating a budget for the program.

I ask the question, because it is illegal to appropriate funds for any part of a law that has not passed. The law has to pass (however illegal) before one can discuss in a government venue what they can appropriate. He is indeed jumping the gun and it IS ILLEGAL in all 50 states.

Read Caetano vs Massachusetts and tell us how any "assault weapon" ban is constitutional.

Hey Mike I'm pretty sure we are on the same team.
I am not sure where you thought I was for any ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN?
Or any other assault on the 2nd amendment. No law has been passed yet, constitutional or otherwise.
That we will find out shortly.

There have been over 20,000 gun control laws passed already and all of them are unconstitutional.
