factory load ar-15 build 224 valkyrie vs 22 nosler

I will begin with I did a search and did not find the info I was looking for. I am taking a Daniel Defense MK12 (I have had good luck with DD) and I am going to put a proof carbon fiber barre in for one of these calibers. I just cant decide between the 2 calibers!!!! I will not be reloading and the gun will be used for steel out to a grand and coyote maintenance all done on our farm. I usually run hornady ammo and that is part of my problem. I was hoping for feedback on factory ammo experiences with these calibers and feedback on proof barrels in these calibers. I could be talked out of Proof because I am looking for tiny groups. PIC below is rifle built with Proof barrel and it is a laser! Thanks Tom

If shooting lighter varmint bullets the 22Nos will get you more velocity but the brass is soft.
If wanting to use longer high BC bullets the Valk case is shorter and will allow you to load 80-95gr bullets where the Nos will not.

I'd be scared to go 22N if factory ammo is a must. It might not be around as long as 224V given the huge popularity disparity.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. It seems like I am seeing better accuracy with the 22N builds at my long range club, but I haven't come across a Proof build in 22N or 224valk. I wonder if any ammo manufactures will be releasing 22 Nosler at shot show?!?

If you want to go 1000 with factory ammo go 224V.

I am one of the three 22 Nosler fans in the world
BUT - I reload and have enough Nosler and Dogtown brass to wear out the 3 barrels I have.
Loading loooong, the 22N might be able to get close to the 224V with the heavies.

4th fired cases still going strong. Gonna try these, 88 and 90's this weekend with new Dogtown cases. Looking for 3000fps (or close).

Thank you, for the feedback. I am going to go with the 224! Any barrel suggestions or is Proof with cam-gas a good way of going?
