About 25 years ago I was in a Borders Book store (do they even have books stores any more?) and was in the gun section as always. I was perusing through a book or magazine can't recall. Anyway, a pro-gun Australian tourist happened to be there and we struck up a conversation. This was around the time that the Aussie government banned all "assault weapons" and handguns with no grandfather clause. It was turn them in, or go to jail. Nearly all complied.
I'll never forget he told me that they had lost their guns due almost exclusively to women. Women in Australia took up gun-control and out voted men. He warned me that if we lose our guns here, we'll have women to thank for it. And he was right. Look at the all the gun control groups here headed up by women. Starting with that loathsome, detestable "Moms Demand Action" and "Every Town USA" to name a few. Not all women are anti-gun, of course. But I will bet you that an overwhelming majority are. Work on the women is my advise
Here is my take on the chance of flipping gun-grabbers. Demonizing guns is just one aspect of their philosophy of irresponsibility, blame, and selfishness. Even if you convince a democrat voter that guns are not the problem, they will still vote Left because they feel entitled to free healthcare, abortion as a lifestyle choice, affirmative action for their identity group, etc. You may have changed their opinion on guns but not their choice in the voting booth.
Most pro gun people are IMO single issue voters and that issue is not guns but personal responsibility and individual authority. The gun is merely a symbol.
If they really just wanted my guns, they could have them with a greeting card. But their true demand is that my individual rights become second to the perceived needs of the collective. And that's why I keep the guns.

The vast majority use feels to make decisions instead of facts.
Add in that most don’t work and sit around soaking up leftist propaganda it’s almost a lost cause

Those who want to ban-guns have a bunch of other issues that make them vote Left. And they may very well be the end of America as it was founded.

Lack of personal accountability and responsibility is the hallmark of the Marxist/Collectivist mindset. The fact that people like Bernie Sanders and AOC have bases of support in this country at all is a testament of how far things have devolved and how much work is ahead to right the ship.

They’re called Bloomberg ads. Anyone who can look at VA or anywhere else he flogs his pecker substitute around (money) should know the score. What is the #1 thing his alternates went after? Gun?

I agree with join GOA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, even the damn NRA as much as I loathe their antics.
What’s going to decide this entire matter in the end is a very few things and no offense intended, a sticky ain’t one of them.
First is money. Period.
Second is “soccer moms”. (In this instance also read in emotional appeal, their decisions are emotionally based not logic based)
Third is media.
Fourth is apathy. Conservatives in general do not do conflict. Nor do they generally do huge crowd protests. They’re generally too busy making a living, taking care of family and making ends meet. (With the notable recent exception of VA lately. Nice job VA!)
Do I agree that we need to take action? Yes. Financially, actively, socially. A fine example is Jon down in TX. His put his life where his mouth is. Admirable as hell if you ask me. That’s what it’ll take. Not some post on a like minded board.
I admire that you gave the benediction at a rally. Good for you.
Now go preach to those that are against the 2nd.
Do I do what I’ve mentioned? Every damn day. I talk to, cajole, debate and engage with anti-2nd people every chance I get. I teach. I write. I throw my hard earned money at it. I show up.

I agree with your statements. However, being a fully public forum, the Hide also receives a lot of traffic from every corner of the Web. Not just gun enthusiasts and folks looking for advice on how to get optimal handloads for their 6.5 CM. Everything on the Internet is tied together by keyword matching. A Google search for something completely random such as portable butane stoves for tabletop hot pot might yield a Hide thread within the first 10 results because 30+ members are talking about accuracy when shooting from a table. We can have schoolchildren doing current events assignments stumbling upon this site because they were looking for gun control related articles. Or random people just taking one wormhole to another wormhole to yet another wormhole all across the Internet because they could not sleep or do not have anything better to spend their boring Friday night on. These people might not have anything to do with guns and gun rights at all, but they might look at this site and go "hmm, interesting", and before they know it, they are browsing way into the archives.
There is a reason why, with the exception of lighthearted ribbing and insider joke shitposting, almost all of my posts involving even remotely technical stuff about shooting, gunsmithing, and gun rights/CCW/RKBA are quite lengthy and may be considered by some to be a slight 'overload' or redundancy of text AKA 'preaching to the choir'. I do it because I know considerable traffic flows through here and a lot of minds may be changed by a single post that just so happens to strike the right chords. Just like memes. There is a reason why leftist media HATES memes. So much that they have tried to get them banned in several countries. Memes have been extremely effective at making people realize fallacies that have been continuously poured upon them through years of MSM and state education systems.
ETA: Whenever I am making a post here, I do it for two audiences. The first audience is all of us sharing the bar counter. The second audience is comprised of folks who we may never hear from on this site, but are simply here as temporary visitors because PlayStation Network is down again, or their history teacher had asked them to find out why the death of Stonewall Jackson had played such a huge role in the Army of Northern Virginia's defeat at Gettysburg...

That could have been me, I was over there about then but TDY, not a tourist and remember similar conversations with a few people, mainly in bars but I was happy to talk to anyone about guns and shooting.
