Where you located? I’m in the Hudson valley, have a few good options for shooting around where I am.
Funny how the term “upstate” changes. When I lived in Albany that wasn’t even considered upstate by the locals. Where are you guys located? I’m in new paltz.
Really? I’m working in New Paltz highland area. Sitting in America’s best right now. Albany is upstate unfortunately. I’m from the finger lake region. Living in Binghamton now.
No shit, it’s a small world. Just working here this week? Too bad sheepdog warrior isn’t open. Bad ass 1000 yard range open to the public only about 40 minutes from here.

$30 an hour to engage steel up to 1k is a steal. Not too many venues in NY that offer this. Range and personel are top notch.
They have PRS style matches (22 and centerfire) and have joined the Minuteman Precision Rifle https://minutemanprl.org/ League

You shoot up there often? I’ve only been a handful of times. Lots of local guys on this site I wouldn’t have guessed that.
Haven’t been to a comp there but would love to. You heard anything about some actor who’s trying to get it shutdown ?
Never shot at Sheepdog but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Run by a retired NYPD guy and stretches out to 1k. I belong to a private club in Pleasant Valley which is close to me but I'm handicapped in that it only goes out to 200 yards.
Tivoli/Germantown etc is about 30 mins north of me.

Saugerties landowners association. If you PM me I’ll talk to you about how to get in. It’s 100 now a year but they’re raising it to 150 which still isn’t bad. Not a fancy place no clubhouse but the range is pretty legit. 3D archery too.
I went on sheep dog website, the price for 2020 is 40 per hour now. Looks like a great place. I will be making the trip to check it out when it opens for the season. 3 hours from where I am on eastern Long Island. Up to 1K shooting is worth at least a visit anywhere but in New York it's the Holy Grail. As for someone famous trying to shut it down welcome to the United Socialist State of New York.
Yea, the go figure where the business is approved and zoning is good to go yet some asshole with money complains. They have 700 acres there too. Targets set up at all different distances too it’s really gun. Never too busy either which is nice. Sucks they upped the price but it’s a nice facility and well worth it. I try to get up at least once a month.
Maybe get a local Snipers hide group shoot in 2020 for whoever is local to sheepdog if there’s any interest?
