FN SPR / Win 70 SA bottom metal for AICS magazines?

The owner of CDI passed away, you can no longer get those bottom metals. You would have to look in the used market if you really wanted.

There is PT&G who makes bottom metals for m70 actions but going through them is a pain in the ass so check Brownells, midway, or anywhere else. This will ensure you don't directly deal with PT&G.

Regardless of which route you go, to run AI style mags, the receiver has to be opened up for it. Make sure you know what you are doing and have the correct dimensions, blueprints, etc.

Yes, luckily I got them to do my FNSPR ten years ago. He did everything. Inlet the McMillan, machined the action, installed the bottom metal. Never had trouble feeding it.

thanks guys,
I should have been more clear that I have the CDI bottom metal on a couple actions now, and so I am familiar with that product, but owner passed away.

Some places still have CDI inventory for other rifle actions, but I didn't find it in stock for FN SPR. I had forgotten about PTG "wide mouth' version, and if I could find it in stock that might work. also will contact Chad to see his thoughts

thanks,

I don't have any CDI stuff in inventory. That said, the Winny DBM thing from us is on the cusp of "things to do". Right now I'm headfirst into an ambitious production project for a 3rd party vendor.

It's resulted in a new machine/tooling purchase and I'm working through the setup and code work now. Once this thing is vetted enough to run hands-off and lights out, I'll begin to work on some other stuff again. Winny DBM's is on that list.

Happy to help, but it'll take a little time to get there.

Are you planning on making a LA model 70 DBMs as part of this or just SA DBMs for the SPR guys who got stuck with FN's proprietary mags?

I have a late model 70 from the New Haven plant in .30-06 that I'm planning on turning into another .280 AI. All signs point to your shop and I want to mag feed this one.
