I've been in stores like this. Usually to get a Coke or Pepsi. Seven cents, if you had a bottle to return.

Nothing like pulling an RC Cola or Nehi chocolate milk out of the cooler, grabbing a moon pie and a box of 22lr , while grandpa was at the feed store, and heading back to the farm for some shooting. Those were some wonderful days. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Touring the RC bottling plant in Columbus, GA was a summer time ritual growing up.

I still have a dwell meter and a timing light on the wall over my workbench. I have a set of ignition wrenches, ignition file, feeler gauges, a spark plug gap gauge and a set of brake spring pliers in my tool box. And I used to leave charged up capacitors laying around just for kicks! Yeah, I'm kinda old!

For all of us older people that have had points in a car.
Last fall my wife called and said that her car quit running and she coasted into a gas station and it cranks but won't fire.
So get there and I'll be damned. Adjustment on the points with a matchbook and she fired up. This is on her 66 Oldsmobile. The next day I installed the conversion kit in the distributor. And for a minute I thought about leaving the old one charged and laying on the counter. It sounded funny in my head but I thought better of it.

Would have been funny! But you probably did the smart thing.
