Will start reloading soon and hoping to join a private gun range a few hours south of me and improve my long range skills. Looking forward to learning from the various experiences here on this forum.

Avenal is a great place. One of my friends is a lifetime member there. Looking to join up there this year. Took my 5th wheel down there last year and spent the weekend shooting, watching movies, and eating too much great food. Heh, I even took my smoker down there and made pulled pork...had some bison rib eyes and elk backstrap...came home 5 lbs heavier..lol.

Would be great to meet up down there once this Covid-19 mess clears up.

Ok i think i know of the area. There is a Fry's Electronics in the area if i am not mistaken.

Metcalf is the , couldn't pay me to go there.

Metcalf has been okay for me and is the only place within an hour drive that i know of that has 200-yd range, though it has limited availability.

I prefer Los Altos R&G less yahoos, 100 and 200 are the same. There is a private place in Hollister the had long range, and avenal had great monthly and regional matches. Sac Valley does too.

Yeah I have been to Los Gatos Rod and Gun a few times when Metcalf closed for lead removal. It was good there also.
The private place in Hollister is either closed or not taking anymore new shooter, one of a fellow Hider told me.
I just learned of Avenal and Sac Valley recently, seems like great places to stretch out far...
