It hung in my grandparents farmhouse at least to the early 80's.
I used to try lighting them on fire, hitting with hammers, the works. I also used to buy boxes of .22LR for 50c each (back when they'd sell .22 to a 12 year old kid, no questions asked..) and pull them apart with pliers to get the powder out. Endless fun to be had that way!
I did all of the above also plus rode my bicycle without a helmet, drink out of a garden hose, played outside until the street lights came on I can't believe I survived my childhood.
