Does anyone have a recommendation for a Shot Timer app for an iPhone?

There are a $h1t-ton of them. Some cost a few bucks. Some are free. What do folks recommend? Or should I order a piece of hardware.

It's for an interesting project. Author friend has asked me to try and prove that a shot that he has written is in his draft fiction book is possible. Actually three shots in a short time-period on close range head targets. Before he puts it in print, he needs to see if his scenario is possible! Thus need for a shot timer.

Cheers,

Sirhr

I have one of the free ones, it’s is just ok. For me, the start beep isn’t as loud as a dedicated. Usually not a problem for me as I wear my Sordins when I shoot. My daughter has a hard time with ear plugs in. I would give it a 5/10 from my limited playing with it honestly. The app is call “gun shot timer” and is free so no harm in trying.

I've tried a few different free ones and none of them have worked for me in picking up shots. The work alright for starting beep and par times, but that's about it.

I tried a couple of different shot timer apps on my iPhone. They were barely above useless. I got this one (Competition Electronics Pocket Pro CEI 4700) because it was the one I was seeing match ROs using the most; found it on sale and have been happy with it.

Sirhr, with some of the poorly written firearms descriptions in books lately if his story sounds plausible go with it. The character could have a Jerry Miculek moment in their life.

Of course last night the book I'm reading had a 50 round, 45 millimeter Galil. Not sure if someone was trying to make it a 45 caliber or it was supposed to be printed as 5.56x45.

This. I can't count how many times I've seen supposedly professional reporters refer to a ".9 MM handgun". That would be a 0.035 caliber.
