Hey guys, I thought some of the Ruger American Predator folks might find this interesting...

I had a stainless Proof RPR barrel that I didn't really want to sell and digging into it a bit, I figured it might work on my RAP. After removing the factory barrel and setting the headspace, here's what I got:

The only issue is that aftermarket barrel nuts are a bit too thick so I had to reuse the factory nut. As such, there is a small gap between the action and shoulder but it's not a big deal:

All in all, I'm pretty happy with it (aside from the upside down twist-rate lol, might be changing that later). I also removed the trigger spring along with the blade...it now breaks nice and crisp at just under 1lb

If you prefer two stage triggers just remove the spring and leave the blade. Use the blade as the first stage as it comes flush with the trigger. It works on my RPR and the trigger is between 14 and 16 oz. with a very clean break.
That's actually what I ended up doing. I prefer the blade but I just wanted to see if it was possible to run without it. (y) I actually got the idea from my RPR...it's amazing how similar it is to the Ruger American.
