I recently purchased a Bergara HMR B14 Wilderness 6.5 Creedmoor. It came with their multi directional muzzle brake. I love the rifle but do not like the muzzle brake. I am curious to know if Bergara's self timing muzzle brake is worth a try so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. My only other rifles with brakes are an AR and I have a built 300WM with a Silencerco Specwar 762 muzzle brake. The brake on my AR isn't anything special but I really like the Silencerco. Does the Bergara self timing brake compare to the Silencerco? If not what are some good options?

Are you referring to the silencerco Asr 3 port brake? I thought the specwar was just the name of the suppressor and the brake is compatible with it.

I have an Asr 3 port brake and it's great but I would probably get the self timing brake if I didn't have a suppressor that mounts to the brake.

It is threaded 5/8 24 according to their specs, now this is a (wich brake is the best thread ):) there are lots of options and opinions on this topic. Do a search and then decide a 6.5 cm is not that difficult to tame with any good brake, I have run most of the brakes available I realy can't tell the difference in my shooting.

I do not like the multi directional brake especially using it prone. Bergara offers a 3 port self timing brake and was wondering if it was worth trying. I also have no problem with this turning into a "which brake is the best" thread..

I purchased my 300WM off of another hide member and he had it listed as so. I guess I will have to do a little research on it.

I have found self timing brakes to worh just fine, I runn a Ross brake on my 6cm not really necessary but my niece shoots this rifle also she has a bad shoulder from gymnastics and she has never complained. I also run Tani , Weischel, apa , and area 419. All these brakes work fine and mitigate recoil and keep me on target they also run the gamut in price, from budget to more expensive google best muzzle brake snipershide plenty of reading. Good luck. PS radialbrakes on a hunting rifle can cause dirt and debris to blow up in the air I don't run any of those.Try the brake you have on your 300wm on the Bergara a correct 6.5 will give you better results but at least you will have an idea how it performs.DO NOT USE THE 6.5 BRAKE ON THE 300 BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN.

Thanks. I will have to do a bit of research.

I guess I should have worded my initial post differently. I was hoping to get some feedback on Bergara's self timing 3 port muzzle brake. Positive or negative.
I do appreciate everyone's input either way.
