I just picked up a Burris RT-6 from @gr8fuldoug. Supposedly this optic was created as an entry level 3 gun competition scope, so I was wondering if anyone has had the chance to beat one up yet.

I don't compete in 3 gun, so I'm sure it will serve my purposes just fine, I am still curious though about how it might be holding up under hard use.

How's the glass and reticle?
It's so good... I can see the moon! If Tangent Theta made a 1-6x...it wouldn't be this good!!:ROFLMAO:

All kidding aside, glass quality seems fine to me. I'm not a glass snob and it is a 1-6x, so it's not like I'm doing target detection at 1,500 yards or anything. I can see well enough to the practical limit of the magnification.

I really like the simplicity of the reticle. It is a 600 yard scope and reticle, so in my opinion, the simpler the better.

It has drops, and windage, and a good size illuminated circle that seems to be plenty bright enough when lit. It has "off" settings between each of the brightness settings which is handy. I like the integral throw lever as well.

I picked up one used and promptly dropped it on a concrete floor. Dinged in the objective tube a bit but she tracks fine and holds zero. I wouldn't expect Nightforce levels of abuse resistance, but seems adequate to me.

It’s noticeably better quality than the strike eagle for a similar price. The reticle is preference but I liked mine pretty well for the 30-150 yards I used my 223 upper on before I put the thermal on it. So it’s sat in the safe for half a year now but I’m not gonna sell it. It’s a quality optic that I didn’t have to invest an uncomfortable amount into so I’m just fine holding onto it.

It's the best optic of its type under $500.

I haven't heard of anyone breaking one yet. I know a handful a 3 Gunners who own one. My buddies local gunshop sells them as fast as they can get them.
Do you know how the construction of the internals compares to the XTR series?
