Member Link Up Indiana shooters stand up!

I’m in Avon and usually shoot at deer creek. It’s a newer place that has 100 yards. The DNR just took it over so it’s $4 a day or something silly like that. There is a members place north of Indy that goes to either 750 or 1000. https://www.hillsideshootingsports.com/outdoor-range
Bass and Bucks goes to 750 and is a real good time but its a bit of a drive. Everywhere else I hear about has some stringent membership requirements.

Hey y’all I’m headed up to Valparaiso to visit my in-laws in a few weeks. FIL wants me to get him an AR and a handgun and show him how to use it. Any suggestions on where to go? Maybe somewhere with a little more flexibility rule-wise. Don’t need long range, just somewhere we can go shoot hopefully away from the Fudds.

From Indianapolis as well, I drive about anywhere I can find. Switzerland county has a private range out to 600 and Brazil has one that is being expanded to 500. I have not found anything in within 1.5 hours any longer.

Where are you shooting now that you can shoot out to 1000yds, but its crowded?

I was at Youngs 3 weekends straight this month and there were never more than a handful of us there.

The range has plenty of space and plenty of targets.

I drive 2+ hours from Valparaiso.

If anyone wants to try it out, its 30$ for a guest for the day when you go with a member

For a few more short weeks, I'm in Indiana, in Wayne County. Old Trails Rifle and Pistol Club has 25, 50, 100, and 200 for rifle and shuts down for about 2x 4hr segments a week for 300-exclusive shooting (spans the entirety of the range to do it). Very reasonable membership requirements too.

They also absolutely do not allow draws from a holster. Fuck those fudds.

I couldn't be happier with Atlanta Consevation Club and Youngs. Both allow holster work, movement drills, and running around.

I've shot quite a few USPSA and IDPA matches at Atlanta. You're right, first rate place. Never been to Young's. The drive for me (2 1/2 hrs) is just as far as it is to Thunder Valley (I live in western OH) and TVP is a lot cheaper and has better terrain.

Where are you shooting 1K on atterbury? Will they let you sign out a range or do you just check in to hunt then do other activities?

The known distance ranges at Atterbury are inside the cantonment area. Those ranges are not open to the public except for scheduled NRA midrange and long range matches through the Central Indiana Highpower Rifle Shooters club.

The CIHRPS matches are open to the public.

I’m going to try and work a deal with the scheduling office, range control didn’t seem to mind us sign out the range to shoot.

They do allow pretty much anybody to hunt on post just one day for rifle though.
