I just got a rock river ar pistol. It has a top-picatinny rail that runs the entire length of the upper, at least 12 inches. I have a reflex sight for it, but am not sure where to place it on that rail. Does it belong in any certain place that works better, or is it personal preference? Thx.

So mounted in this area looks good then?

AR’s are meant to run with optics mounted on the very front of the receiver itself. It shouldn’t be mounted on or touching the rail at all due to possible shifting.

A reflex sight is meant to be fired with both eyes open, and the forward receiver mounting position is ideal for that.

Also correct. I run my competition red dots as far forward on the receiver as possible and never look at the actual reticle. The dot naturally goes where I want it to.
