I"m thinking of moving to CO. Really want to be able to day-hunt or do a quick weekend hunt for mule or elk one day rather than plan a North Pole expedition like today.

Know how I know you've never had rutted up mule deer?

Only thing he'll be good for is sausage, very heavily seasoned.

I know, I've done it, I've quit doing it. Nice grass and grain fed whitetail does for eating.

You are 100% correct about the seasoning and sausage. Half pork 50 - 50. This is about a little above average mule deer buck. The big ones are difficult to find for the most part. That one is about 28 inches and thin. The large bucks will be 32 plus and very heavy. Non the less a good mule deer. They are eating a lot of sage and in the rut on top of that. You want something that is grain fed and close to a ranch or on a ranch where they can get grain and have water within about 1 mile at the most.

You either have to be around the cities or out in the bush away from the regular hunting in order to find good deer any more. Tremendous amount of hunting pressure. Not only from residents but non residents as well. A lot has changed over the past 60 years. A good whitetail doe does great for eating. They come from the plains however they are starting to mix a little with the Mule Deer.

Yeah. We got tons of hippies here sadly. They dont want us hunting and such. Poor animals. But they dont realize that over population makes them suffer more than a bullet does.

It was my dream to move up there when I was younger. I don't even like to visit now. I love to see places like garden of the gods. Glad you are out walking. Sounds like things are going well. 👍 👍 👍

I actually had another seizure this past sunday. My wife truly deserves her wings. She caught me again before I collapsed and got hurt like last time.

Last time I had one I fell down my stairs here. Bit part of my tongue off and smashed my face against the wall or floor. It hurt a lot.

I had an MRI and two CT scans this week. Last week I had to wear a holter monitor. I will get the results next week.

I don’t understand it, but There’s something about a buck walking away that makes their antlers look bigger than they are. Good buck none the less.
