True. You know who else actually agrees with you is Ted Cruze. Cruze, from his years of working with Biden, gives a firm warning not to underestimate Biden. And has the chance to do some real damage if Trump doesn't sit down and study Biden's agenda so that he can have a counter-argument.

Pandemic, economic crisis, social crisis, global unrest, and the opposition party picking Joe Biden actually work in Trump's favor. No politician can face all that 2020 has brought, and only be behind by 5-8 points. Donald Trump should be trailing Joe Biden by 20 to 30 points minimum. His handling of COVID has been a failure and that alone should have put him at -10 to -15 points considering the rising cases and death toll. The economy is depressed and many people are struggling, that should be at least another 5-10 points. The energy from George Floyd's death saw the biggest social upheavel this country has witnessed in a long time, and that alone should have delivered Biden to victory, but Black Lives Matters is tanking in the polls due to rioting, and that is another lost potential -15 points with the Democrats shooting themselves in the foot. Then there's foreign policy but most Americans don't really care anymore for that. And picking Biden should have neutralized any advantage that Trump had with hard-working blue-collar families. That just hasn't been the case. The Democrats picked up no advantage with Biden, nor did they nullify any advantage Trump had by picking Biden. No gain there, and if anything, lost votes.

By being down by just a couple of points, Trump is proving that he is invincible. That he can weather any storm and survive anything you throw at him. 2 more Pandemics, WWIII, New Zealand sinking into the ocean, the zombie apocalypse, aliens, whatever you can come up with, Trump can bounce back from and outperform the Democrats. This is actually frightening and abnormal. It's kind of like there's some greater force out there in the Universe, looking out for him. Either Trump is invincible and a higher power walks with him through history, or a great portion of the American public do not like the Left because they're too radical in their positions and would rather settle for Trump and all his imperfections than hand power over to the Left.

If Trump, the day he took office, acted 80% presidential instead of 10% like he has (and that image matters a lot) he'd be unbeatable. Then I'd have confidence. Publicly, few world leaders will say they respect him. Publicly, few politicians - even Republicans - will overtly praise him (only a policy or doing of his). Publicly, nobody of any race can safely state they are Republican / support Trump without being at the very least thought of negatively and, in cities and other liberal areas, potentially attacked, stolen from (signs), be subjected to vandalism, and so on, so forth.

Honestly, the only thing I care about is the 2nd Amendment. And many other independents like me agree. The debates will make guns evil and Trump will absolutely fail at defending gun rights. Why? Because it's so much easier to paint people like Kyle Rittenhouse as vigilantes, as examples of why evil ARs and semi-automatics aren't something people should have access to, especially with 10+ round magazines. You don't need that for hunting, Biden will say. You don't need that for defending your home, Biden will say. You don't need that for anything except "WAR" and killing lots of people. Trump, who has never spent a day among real gun owners, will not know how to fight back on that. He won't have the facts. He won't paint the picture of overreach.

The sad thing is, we have elderly men trying to run this country. Young conservatives fear running for any election because being labeled a Republican might cause them to lose their job. The old guard in the Republican party keeps hanging on to things that don't matter. If it's in the Constitution, it must be defended. If it's not, compromise.

I cannot see a topic where trump has the advantage.

Covid and civil unrest, and the resulting economic and social impacts have all but sealed trumps fate.

You could maybe make a case trump could have politically survived one of those, but not both. Just really bad coincidental timing I suppose....

Well said. Trump has never acted 'Presidential'. He's in a position to lead the world, but he's never tried to lead. Only to intimidate and harass. To me, it all comes down to who controls the middle ground. If Biden can paint Trump into a corner and win the independent vote, then he will win easily. If that's the case, Kamala is only a heartbeat away.

My keywords for a Biden loss will be 'Ukraine' and 'dildo'.

I tend to agree that no one is changing their minds based on this. I could see some of the older generation dems who don’t follow the news like crazy and just vote the party line once every fours years having an eye opening moment if Biden falls completely apart. That said I doubt that’s getting any of them to vote for Trump they are all voting against Trump, not for Biden and certainly not for what the current dem party stands for.

Maybe a few just don’t vote once they realize Biden isn’t fit for office, that’s best case scenario in my book.
