I bought a couple new MDT mags for my bolt gun. I have a Defiant action, Manners stock and the caliber is 6cm if that makes any difference. Is there a correct method for adjusting the magazines? Does the bullet need to point up or be level? Does the primer need to completely show in the back? Should the front and back of the magazine lips be adjusted the same? I have the magazine lip tool to tweak them, just want to make sure I am doing it right.

Yeah, this is maybe a stupid question but have you determined that it doesn’t work as is?

I have bought new MDT for my 6.5 CM in. J Allen chassis and they worked fine out of the box.

are you having feeding issues and if so, what?

Try a pmag.

Metal mags don't feel as slick as plastic. If you don't need every last .001 I see no point in using mags that cost 3x as much unless they just don't work.

The AICS mag design just sucks. The AICS Prague may feel smoother, but it sucks too. The follower tilts forward and aft. It’s the opposite of anti tilt. It’s single stack. WTF, is it 1943? No. AI pattern mags have to be the number one fail point I’ve seen in matches.

The metal mags will do this too. I saw one guy whose mag barfed every time he seated it with enough pressure to trip the mag catch. He had to hold the mag catch open, gently seat the mag and then release the catch to not have a malfunction. Every damned stage. And that was to get it so that the damned thing fed “correctly.”

Typically rounds need to sit up a little higher. The 6 CM can hang up on the feed ramp, some builders tend to feather the feed ramp with a Foredom tool. 30 and 40 degree shoulders with minimal body taper tend to be sensitive to feed ramp geometry.
