Looking for some cheaper bags for my Vudoo for shooting NRL22/PRS. Need to find a decent rear bag and barricade bag without spending a ton of money on them.

Are there any quality companies out there that arent as expensive or is anyone making any bags at home and selling them. Definitely wouldn't mind supporting someone's side business.

This is just my opinion, so take it for what it’s worth. If you use your bags a lot they are one of the most abused pieces of gear. They get dumped in the dirt, drug across wood and metal objects all the time. Going for a “budget” bag will just have you buying another one sooner than later. I would recommend you check the PX here, there are deals to be found and buying quality, even used, will last a lot longer. Now if you find someone working from home that makes good stuff cheaper that would be a bonus, but you won’t know for sure until you start using them a lot.

Definitely make some good points and I completely agree. Was just hoping there might be something out there that would still be worth buying thats a bit cheaper. I dont mind spending the extra on quality but I have already blown this 22lr budget out of the water.

I know what you mean. I started precision rifle with rim fire thinking it would be cheaper. Turns out you can easily spend almost the same amount of money as starting with centerfire.

Yep that's exactly what I was thinking. Well initially was going to build a Kidd instead of buying a centerfire and now I am in a Vudoo for a whole lot more money. If I would have gone centerfire though I would have been spending more in ammo and wanted to get into reloading. So I guess I'm saving money there. For now......

Man I can’t imagine springing for that expensive of a rimfire, then going cheap on bags.

I was at a local match with a top shooter and we were on a tower. He mentioned the last time he was up there, some guy either dropped or threw his imitation GameChanger over the side, and the seams burst when it hit the ground.

I have a tabgear str8 laced bag in black multicam I could sell ya pretty cheap that’s served me extremely well when I needed it. I’ve since gotten a different one with a different fill so if you’re interested, let me know and we can work something out. I used it as a rear bag for many of matches and it’s always done it’s job very very well for me, both for my vudoo and centerfire rifle.

Have any friends with bags? Ask to try theirs. They all weigh, feel, and grip a little different. Find what you like and get 1 bag. Don't get 5 different bags that are cheap for 5 different kinds of positions. Get 1 really good bag, a good bipod, and figure out how to get good in any position with just that gear.

I love the Armageddon Gear Mini Game Changer Waxed Canvas Heavy Fill. May have gone Shmedium if I were doing it again but I can get rock solid with that bag. Once you get one, then all you have to do is figure out how to get stable with it.

Armageddon game changer schmedium (I have the OG version and the pint size) I’ll sell you either one but you gotta pay shipping lmao

or precision underground. He’s been awesome to deal with and I like supporting the small guy.

Me either lol. I'm really not trying to go cheap but also trying to keep my wife from killing me. Lol although if she kicks me to the couch I might not be to upset as it is pretty comfortable.

Wonder if thats a common thing with the game changer. I thought they were considered one of the better brands. Also wonder if that is something they would cover under their warranty.

good ammo for a .22lr isn't THAT much cheaper than a center fire............................just saying.
Especially if you reload, I’m not too far off per round of 6CM than buying high end Elay or Lapua!

Not sure if I would be able to reload for $0.18-0.26 a round. But I also havent gotten into reloading yet so I could be a bit off.

I do plan to get into reloading and something that I have wanted to do for a long time. If I am successful in getting into NRL/PRS rimfire I think I will quickly get over into centerfire.

No, it wasn’t a GameChanger made by Armageddon Gear that failed. The guy cheaped out and bought some off-brand, copy of a GameChanger. The point was buy a quality, American made bag from manufacturers that give back to the community: Armageddon Gear, Wiebad, Cole-Tac, Warhorse Development, Precision Underground.

Gotcha yeah that makes me feel better about picking up one of the Armageddon bags.

I like Armageddon Gear’s game changer plus a small flat bag. Between the two they cover almost anything I need for .22 matches. I don’t like to carry too much gear with me even if all the stages are on the same firing line.

A good quality bag is worth every penny. Try/borrow a few different bags and pick the one you like the best.

Most of the good bags are not cheap. Shoot matches and most people are more than willing to loan you a bag to try so you can form your own opinion on what works for you. I pretty much loan out a bag every match and have borrowed one many times to try something new.

When people like something they are more than willing to share that information and let you try it (look up NPS, net promoter score).

    I’ll second that!
