Make sure if wearing a 3/4 long jacket with a flask of booze in the lower pocket that the stitching is double reinforced.

That way on a chair lift when the booze turns sideways in the chair slots, yanks you jacket over your head disabling you, and some how you miss the emergency trip wire while swinging upside down and the attendant in the shack is reading a damn book,

The stitching holds long enough to have someone shut it down and hit reverse as you hear stitches pop one at a time swinging 50 ft over jagged rock and snow.

You will be glad you paid for a good jacket not some flashy bs.

Your first post here is for recommendations on a ski jacket?

Not piling on but there are a lot more informative places (ski magazines / ski websites / hunting websites etc) to search for ski jacket recommendations than Snipers hide.

that being said ive had omni heat products before and they dont wick moisture very well

If you have a good budget get the brand of jacket the ski patroll wears in a different color.

Keep your flask in one of the upper pockets.

The jacket purchased in 1978 is still in service with my son as I outgrew it. I has been on 3 continent's it does look a little rough now.

I believe it is jan sport which was a popular knock off of the real ski patroll jackets for the poors.

Get good or don't bother is my view.

And yes, very strange place at which to ask about ski jacket recommendations.

get a patagonia, it is guaranteed for life, i have burnt thru so many different ones and they repair or replace no questions asked..
Sometimes they cant replace, they will send you a voucher for the original retail price to buy another jacket or item on their current catalog..

Or try a ski forum as noted above.. lol
