I'm hoping for some advice; when installing the binary system are there significant benefits to using a better host like a Kidd, Timney or even a BX over a tuned up stock trigger assembly? Thoughts on seeking out an older metal housing to tune up? I'm frugal, not cheap, if there's something I deem necessary, just like getting the most bang for my buck & I'm pretty handy at doing my own work. I guess my main question is what to expect (besides the obvious) from a binary system??

The only thing you need to consider is the factory unit is a mass produced molding. Where as the more expensive copies tend to be machined, with a lot tighter tolerance. But from watching the video Plinkster stated he's fitted that to a standard charger.
So taking that into account, stay frugal or go full custom with better tolerances / finish and a fixed / machined rail.
Love the idea of the binary but they aren't allowed in the UK.

Tried mine in 3 different factory metal housings none worked. Sent to Franklin, 12 weeks later they sent it back with a letter that it worked fine in their test housing, no other info. I bought a plastic housing and it works fine now.
Won’t buy anything in the future from Franklin.

Well I did end up winning my auction for a Copper/SB braced Charger. I've been watching a lot of vids, & reading on different upgraded trigger groups. Best I can tell is the Franklin parts would replace most of the upgraded parts anyway so I'll just install them in a stock housing. Haven't received the pistol yet & I've been buying up a few of the older Mitchel 50 round teardrop mags and ammo. I'll keep ya posted

Should have just build a dedicated ar 22 and got the gen3 binary for it. Many more options for parts for the build, and after the build if you decide to scrap the 22.

Yeah maybe in hind sight...
I have so many 10/22 magazines though, and a Arrowhead chassis can pretty much give same options.
Moving on to a mini Draco or AK pistol while I can! I'm on a mission.
Of the 100s of guns I've owned, 1 was a Glock I didn't care for and I've never had an AR platform. My 5.56/223s have been a mini-14, Sig 556, HK SL-6, 660 and a 93. I think I've owned just about every semi-auto battle rifle in 308 except an AR. I've just never traveled down that road.

Hard to beat a mini14 for a gun to have around. My uncle had one many years ago, I believe it was the one I saw him with most days of his life.
