Sherman 7 MAX

BCX do you think the sherman 7 max is worth it over the saum? Thinking about trying a max for pva 170 grain hunting bullets. I think the saum could get 3000 feet long action 26 inch barrel.

I think there is a gain in velocity. Rich now has ADG 7 MAX brass w 40 degree shoulder but i did have to full length size them. Either way your loading for both cartridges. Im a fan of the 40 degree shoulder. Hate trimming lol.

I have only played w the Berger 190 and Hornady 190 A-Tip. 190 A-Tip is 3030 FPS max, Accuracy load is 3k. Im not sure how fast Steel Head pushed the 190 A-Tip in the SAUM?

Don't forget i added FB and loading at 3.200 on a LA

Sherman said his reamer was .205 freebore so should be good for those 170 and run them in a long action nuke

Idk, i contacted Rich about the brass and my chamber out of spec. I purchased a fresh reamer from Rich for the chamber job. Personally i would rather fire form 200 pieces of ADG 7 SAUM. I had no issues w that brass.

Did you chamber it your self? Hopefully that brass holds up well. Kind of have me scared i havent pulled trigger yet everything is in cart still. Deciding on what prefit to get

Have my eye on something up and coming!!! Sherman 338 Striker, off a shortened CT case. Case is 2.464 w OAL 3.940 W 285 BADLANDS.

What dies are everybody using? I see Hornady Match 2 die set for 7 Max on the Sherman www site. Are there other, better options?
I have the 7 max hornady dies. I dont mind them i think forster dies are better but not offered. I had to send my 7 max resizing die back to hornady to get polished because it was scratching my cases but just got it back and works great now.

I would think you can get those going faster than 3,000 feet per second, my 7 SS hits 3000 feet per second with 60.5 grains of reloader 26 and a 180 vld.

Rl26 is a special powder haha and it is like magic dust to get. But yeah i was hoping for 3050 at least. But i havent reached pressure yet so hoping 67 grains gets me there.

I think i got lucky with a slow barrel im prolly going to finish at 2900 to 2930 for speed with the 183 smk. Going to finish up testing tomorrow. Imr 7977 65 grains max and imr 8133 66.5 to 67 grains

How many rounds down the tube? Has the barrel sped up? I think guys run the 183 in 7 SAUM around 2900 FPS loaded long.
I have to check count 100 %, off top of my head almost 100 rds now. Yeah my 7 saum was 2850 plus. Thats why i went max but not getting any where close to that. My oal is 3.245 on 183 smk
