Just picked one up for my son yesterday. They seem pretty cool when they're bigger. Anybody else have one?

That is the most degusting thing bearded clams almost makes me vomit watching old porn .Are those anything like bearded clams?![]()
I had a baby 3’ asian water monitor. He was vicious. Had to give him away. My friend had a huge savannah and it was like a dog. It had a bed, roamed the house, came when called and crapped on one specific bath towel. It had to be 40#’ and 5’ long. They had all sorts of puppies and kittens, birds and other stuff and he never bothered any of them.No bearded dragons but I had a Nile monitor that grew to 6 feet. I’ve had about 14 snakes over the years and 3 lizards. Sucks when they go. Think I’m done keeping reptiles for pets.
hahaha....thought the sameAre those anything like bearded clams?![]()

think it depends on how much time you spend with them, they arent like a dog. never seen one fetch.Question.
are they/can they be pet like a normal “pet” or they just kind of hang out and get fed
Bro we walk ours on a leash , he wears costumes and they love to eat, he swims in the bath tub it’s cool and they are great for kids. You just need to do some research and joint a dragon page on Facebook for support as neededQuestion.

My guy knows how to partyThat's a good looking little Beardie! I have two that are almost 2 years old. Had one that I had a strong bond with that died of cancer in 2019, he was 5 so I'm right about at 7 years in raising them. They're awesome little creatures.
I started breeding Dubia roaches for these two about a year ago. Started off with a small starter colony (60 females, 20 males) in one plastic bin, and now I have nearly 150lbs worth in (4) large bins.
They're very clean, safe, relatively low maintenance when you get the bins setup right. If your state permits it - I would highly advise starting a small(er) colony as feeders. Crickets are not nearly as good for them, and worms are definitely not good for them (occasional treat is fine).
As mentioned, they need lots of ground space when they grow larger. Setup the biggest tank setup that you can. I also recommend using the big / long Reptisun 10.0 UVB high output bulbs with a good reflector (or mercury vapor). Best setup that I have found for my two 48x24x24 tanks is this fixture that uses 34" UV bulbs and the little G10 bulbs for basking (the G10 bulbs last a LONG time, just avoid the LEDs obviously)
Ceramic heat emmitter is best for them at night (72F ambient temp is ideal). NONE of the red / purple heat bulbs are good for them. That little divot in the back of their head is their third eye that senses light (which is how they sense birds swooping down to grab them). The wavelengths from those bulbs will also blind them.
Good trick to get them to eat greens - sprinkle some bee pollen powder on their food. Also make sure to dust the bugs or greens with calcium + D3 (4)x per week and a multivitamins twice per week. The older they get, the less bugs they should eat.
I remembered that scene from lord of war... where he draws his homeland in yay..... looks like your dude is going for austrailia the hard way. Lol
