Have a French engineer we do work for occasionally. He claims when he was in the French military they trained with the Belgians. He claims the Belgian military is unionized. On the obstacle course the Belgians went around the high obstacles because "Not in thier contract".

Go spend some time with European forces and you'll know that answer lol. I mean all you have to do is plan your shopping spree during one of their 50 smoke/coffe/tea breaks and holidays. As fucked up as we think the US DOD is, we really are lightyears ahead of every other country. ...which is scary.
I'm not sure how you arrive at a conclusion that giving up your life because of covid restrictions...restrictions that obviously won't last forever...is worth giving up 20 or 30 years of your relationship with your kids...the good times to be spent...the memories to be made...the grandkids you might hold...seems to me to be a very high price to be paid in exchange for making a stand against something that will fade away eventually in the not to distant furture...just doesn't seem worth it to me. Now change the context to the crap going on in American politics and making a stand against that...that's a different story. But that's not about covid restrictions...that's about a political party that's in control now that is void of any morality and is making changes that will affect people for years and years to come.

If you lived in a police state with cameras on every other corner, lose over half of your check in taxes each month, pay an asinine amount of tax on every purchase, and every other piece of mail is a tax bill, you'd probably feel differently. Top that off with covid controls that California only wished it could have done while having to worry that your neighbors were going to rat you out to the federal police because you had friends/family over, you'd probably feel differently. Some people just snap. Nothing new. Everyone has a breaking point and none of them are on the same meter.

That's not what he's making a stand about...unless I've missed it and I've read a lot of their news about it and the letters he left....it's simply about the covid restrictions they're imposing and the virologist who's advice and recommendations they're following over there.
Well like I said...he makes no mention of any of those things in his letters he left that I have seen...just the lock down imposed and the hard on he has for that virologist...if there's more to it then of course that changes things.

The man is making a stand against tyranny in his country. What do you think this fake covid stuff is. You keep bringing up his children so I’ll elaborate. Men throughout history have made sacrifices. How many men died during the American Revolution? How many fatherless children were the result. I bring up this war because it is one that more closely relates to this man’s agenda. I feel for his children as well but I understand and respect this man’s decision. He is more of a man than all of us combined.

I feel bad for the kids of the men trying to catch him, if there is a firefight one kid can say their dad died fighting for liberty, the other kid can say his dad died for politicians .
Again I just see covid and those restrictions going away...at that point the "freedoms" that were taken will come back. That's not to say that here in the US they're not dragging their feet lifting some of them...and if I still had kids in school I'd be pretty damn pissed...but not to a point of giving my relationship with my kids up over it all. I think I see the restrictions thru a different lens as I've been in lockdown and isolation for 6 months longer than anyone else has...and I still have a ways to go yet. Not because of covid but from cancer and a stem cell transplant that took my immune system away...same result but different reason...I've been locked in a room literally since the end of 2019...I'm not bitter about it...I'm thankful I'm alive. During which I lost a brother in law to covid mainly because my sister didn't isolate herself and brought it home to her entire family...think about it...if she would have followed the guidelines he would still be alive...dont think she's not aware of that and is struggling to accept what her actions caused...just saying. This guy has stated clearly his issue is the restrictions imposed and nothing else beyond that that I have read...if there's more to it I stand corrected.

I don't know this guy obviously...so I don't know his thought processes or in what ways he's been impacted by the restrictions...or any of the myriad of other reasons of why he might have had enough and said f*ck it...here is where I draw the line. You would think there's a whole lot more to the story than what's been reported so far...some of the things like some of you have said...I would certainly think there would be considering the price he probably knew he ultimately was going to pay...maybe that part will come out eventually...I still feel sorry for his kids...that's just the way I feel about family and how much kids really need their parents in this world and the guidance they give =/
