Hmm... I was pretty young at the time, but old enough to remember this didn't happen.
As someone who seems to have enjoyed killing Americans, makes sense he wants to disarm them, harder to burn people alive when they shoot back.

I believe the official line, and I cannot vouch for it, is that he was involved in the investigation into the Waco massacre exactly because he was not at all involved in the incident itself. I have no idea if that is true, and given the whitewash investigation, if true it is hardly a recommendation.
Some of that is true, but not all of it.
This is the problem I envision happening. Conservatives accuse Chipman of being the man in the picture, and a murderer at Waco. It is easily proven that he is not the same person. All further arguments against him are basically dismissed because the first one ended up being bullshit, even though the real concerns, about the man he is now, are totally valid.

I attended a show where he performed at the Houston Livestock Show in the early '90s and couldn't help notice strangers giving me double takes everywhere I went. These days (minus most of my hair and the addition of 40 lbs. or so) nobody makes that mistake about me anymore, and considering the personal troubles Travis has had, I'm A-OK with it.

It seemed like a very risky strategy to lie about that, and I assumed it was a lie, but now looking at it, it seems like it is more than likely it is not him. But as I said, he wants bad things now, which is what really matters. That is why he should not be confirmed. That said, I think that if he just said "yeah, I was in the picture" he would get 50 D votes and sail through, but if it turns out he lied about it, he will not make it through, so it becomes even more of a conundrum.
If anyone can take your AR15 from you then you should of never purchased it to begin with.

Again, this is pure silliness to argue about this, but what the hell. His ears didn't grow, they turned into somebody else's ears. It isn't the size that is different. It is the shape and placement that changed. Look at the young picture. The bottom of his ears are below his nose. In the current picture, the bottom of his ears are well above the bottom of his nose. And they are at different angles. Same with height of the top of his ears relative to his eyes. He isn't exactly a normal looking guy.
Could be the angle of the shot, but it could also be different people.

Assault rifle.....full auto, intermediate cartridge, mag fed
STG 44 was the first to complete the trilogy.
Full auto, mag fed and instead of using a pistol cartridge they shortened the case on the standard infantry round 8mm Kurz.

The science of shooting and equipment has progressed immensely in the ten years since Ive gotten back into it and the knowledge/tech at the time of Waco wsnt much progressed beyond WWII doctrine.
I'd like to see a junior Congress Critter ask him "is this is you in this picture" and hold up a 2 ft x 4 ft picture.
