And you were probably the voice activated remote control your parents had. Better job than adjusting and holding the antenna though.

Our antenna was attached to the chimney and I would have to go up on the roof and adjust it as my Dad hollered (up the chimney). I can hear him now, go back!..no too much, go back.. He's been gone for 9 years now. I was living in the best times and I never knew it.

We were lucky to get a new box of foil to wrap around the bunny ears.
I converted that exact console to house a Samsung LCD over 10 years go. I think 40" was an exact fit with all the front panels removed, mounted on a steel frame bolted together with garage door opener straps. Tons of room in the back for the satellite box, DVR, UPS..
