The problem is that most of those tapes either only have the fractions for the first foot or are only 6 feet long.
One of my buds and I bought metric tapes once just to fuck with everyone else. Him: "That's 197 point 2!" Me: "197 point 2." Coworker: "What the fuck is point 2?"
Edited to say that we all started fucking around using "regular" tapes and 3/8" became "point 6" and 3/4" became "point 12"...because, you know, we were fraction genii.

I have a 100' tape that is in 10th of a foot not inches..

Most common with excavation type work. LOTS of surveyors rods are in tenths of feet.
Funny, my 300ft tape is in tenths.…. Is that like a mil reticle with moa turrets?
I had a tape that was in 10ths and inches when I worked in the dirt. It would fuck you up if not careful.
My 300' tape is inches on one side, tenths on the other. Damn near fucked up laying out the location of my house foundation. Fortunately I was paying attention.
