The really sad thing is that four presidents and hundreds of Congressmen and Senators have their fingerprints on this debacle, and not one of them could prevent it from going down the same path as our previous failures in nation-building. It's a capstone achievement in a half-century of failed American strategy.
No matter who was in charge when this withdrawal occurred, it's certain that the other side would point fingers and cackle with glee despite their own culpability in supporting that failure.
This isn't too say that it's wrong to dunk on Biden and his incompetent buffoons; they deserve every bit of the scorn and I hope they enjoy a long soak in Hell for the body count that is directly attributable to their egos and professional incompetence. Impeach them all. If we want to go back into the Trump and Obama and Bush administrations, all the better; there are two decades of bad behavior that need to be publicly punished to restore our nation's confidence in its leadership.
But also take a look in the mirror and understand that many of us backed this war from the very beginning, and then starved it of necessary resources by also pushing for the unnecessary and failed experiment in Iraq, and then ignored the warning signs of failure here for the past decade. At the very least, anyone who wasn't in favor of a strategic withdrawal after WikiLeaks started publishing the "Afghan War Diaries" needs to understand that they share some small part of this burden. And how many in the right were brave enough to criticize Mike Pompeo's deal with the Taliban when it was made, or at least now admit with the benefit of hindsight that it was a terrible basis for withdrawal?
Don't ever again trust a politician who wants to go to war without a plan to end that war. Demand accountability of those in charge of this clusterfuck. Think real long and hard about the roles that we played as voters of those who drove those policies. We all owe this much to our military and their families.

How can the entire system be so incompetent did Joe pick the worst generals we ever produced that lead to this. I blame biden but we know he doesn't understand nor is he in control so someone else must of devised the plan to completely do the opposite of Trumps plan. There should be a civilian review board to review everything and located the ones that plan this and give them the choice of hanging, firing squad or life in prison in Afghanistan.
This is a direct result of Obama purging the military's flag / general officer ranks. The reality of the situation is no one is getting fired or relieved of command. There will be no investigations by Congress and the media will stop reporting on the story by the end of the day. Is was all ISIS and global warming...case closed.
