A very mellow whiskey. Light smooth finish. We pulled strait from the bottle.
I have been gravitating to cask strength / barrel proof Bourbon but the 80 proof Irish blend would be a thing to keep around for light drinkers I guess.
I think I'll finish up the nite with some barrel proof Tx instead of pain pills. I trashed my bad back on 5 gallon buckets of 223, 9mm and 45 acp. They were all cleaned and full to the top.
Havent been able to shoot for 3 days now.

@db2000 if you haven't tried them, you might take a look at the Knappogue Castle Irish single malts. I find their 14yo to be especially nice. They have some interesting Cask Finish Series releases too.
Tried the First Fill some time ago and since been looking for another bottle to no avail. On my birthday, last November, (PM me for date and where to send cards, gifts, death threats...) my daughter gave me a bottle! Wasn't opened until our 20th wedding anniversary last month. We were in Daniel Boone National Forest. Red River Gorge area. The fancy bottle of Willet caught my wife's eye and she bought it simply because she wanted the bottle. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is an excellent bourbon. Behring and Randall for the true aficionados.

Condolences on your loss. Pappy's is a good way to celebrate. Ive had several bottles and enjoyed everyone. Right now Im headed to the fridge to grab a Sierra Nevada IPA.

Found an awesome whiskey bar in Houston, Tx 4th of July weekend while I was visiting and got to sample these gems with some buddies.
So while in Kentucky-see most recent post with other bottles and blades-I asked the proprietor of a liquor store in Stanton if he could point out any bourbon that is sold only in Kentucky. Whiskey Row is what I scooped up as a few others were sold out. They had a great selection of liquors for a small place and I asked if he could recommend another fine bourbon from Kentucky. He went in the back and came out with the E.H. Taylor. Said he just got 3 bottles the night before and since we bought 2 bottles, he would sell this one. I am not familiar with E.H. Taylor, but have heard good things about it. The Evan Williams was purchased at home this afternoon and is about to be poured into a glass....
EH Taylor is pretty hard to come by as of lately. It used to be found pretty easily on shelves a few years ago but now it's considered allocated. It's a pretty good pour neat or for a mixer, whatever you're into.

still on water with exactly 3 cubes of ice and a one slice of orange and one lemon such a shame I could not find the mint I picked from the garden but it's fancy enough I guess .
Starting early with the JD for the holiday, the cherry is key which soaks in JD for months. Its also a good fruit to have anytime especially since it infused with JD.
