Best .308Win Muzzle Break?

The one that allows you to attach your can ;).

APA lil bastard tames 300 Win mag quite well.
Pros:
(1)Recoil Management
(2)Ports to align muzzle movement
(3)Scares the piss outta everyone in 2 states (and one of them is TX)
(4)Uses Jam Nut
Cons:
see #3--double plugs and no friends at the range. I have no friends anyway, so its mostly about hearing and blast.
Jam nuts CAN work loose. YMMV.

(I am not a pro prs, but the only reason I have brakes on my rifles are to either attach a suppressor, or its a big magnum I shoot a lot--I'd not put a brake on anything less than 300 WM--but thats me).

I agree on the suppressor comment, however I would say that direct thread is the way to go if you are running a dedicated can.

PVA Jet4 is what I have on my Tac .308 and it works really well.
This.
Basically, look at ones with a first port that doesn't ring your bell all day.
And, shooting .308 in Tac you're better served with a longer barrel, which helps push blast further away, and gives you free speed.
I shot 2 seasons with a 24" M24 barrel with an Impact brake, but if I was to go back, I'd look at a 26"-28" in heavy palma and pva jet blast or similar design with more squared up first port.
There's few things more satisfying than beating your buddies and making a podium shooting .308 against all the Open raceguns 😎
Good luck, and welcome to the Hide.

I l’ve run the Insite heathen on everything from a 6.5 ceedmoor to a 25 GT. Makes i big difference. I like it more than the hellfire as there seems to be less overpressure on me when I’m shooting than the hellfire or the crosstac I’ve tried.

the heathen on my 223, while it doesn't make quite the same blast as a 308, has a similar effect when winning matches

Howdy,

Looking to start competing in PRS tactical division and I'm curious as to what everyone w/ a 308 is running for a muzzle. What are your pro's and con's to your suggestion?

Thanks,
HNemes
I really like the Dead Air KeyMount brake, and I run Dead Air suppressors that use the KeyMo mount.

But, even if you don't use their suppressors, it's still a very nice 3-chamber brake that works very well.
