Father Mike
Once rumors started coming out he left for a church a few towns over. Then he moved again. They eventually popped him for diddling a 14 year old boy.
None of my family is catholic anymore.... what a disgrace.
He said they aren’t catholic anymore, not he’s an atheist now..though he may be and that’s his choice. Believe it or not other religions exist....let me get this straight...you left Jesus because of Judas??
Just trying to understand the decision tree of your and others posts. Someone (a human) did a bad thing. Broke pretty much all commandments set up by Jesus...and you blame the Church?
Facts such as kids are over 10x more likely to get raped by a public teacher in Cali, or 1-5 girls are molested, reach deaf ears?
Facts such as on the avg, the Catholic church is more safe than ANY other institution molestation wise?
Is that a reason to ignore the obvious evils of the PEOPLE of the Church? absolutely not. Prosecute them fully! Just hate to see anyone leave salvation because they see evil in the world. Nvr lose Hope.
Just the hypocrisy is deafening. The real issue is a lack of backbone to stand up for what is right. Every molestor should be dealt with swiftly and harshly.

It is hard to face it and
harder still to follow it."

Huh? I'm not particularly religious, but I still take the kids to church on Sundays. I also serve as treasurer for a national Christian public charity and sit on the board for another. I have nothing against Christianity whatsoever....let me get this straight...you left Jesus because of Judas??

I’ve been to a couple catholic funerals and the nuns were rude as hell. I’m in the back rows like a good baptistHuh? I'm not particularly religious, but I still take the kids to church on Sundays. We left the catholic church because they moved that son of a bitch to another post rather than dealing with him appropriately. I stopped going to church but still considered myself catholic until I visited the Vatican. There were homeless folks surrounding the Vatican walls begging tourists for spare change. About three feet into the first building there was a display case with not one, but two cake knives. I believe one was gold and the other platinum, but don't quote me on that. Both with inlaid precious stones. We spent about six hours wandering around, gawking at thousands of priceless artifacts. When we finally get to St. Peter's tomb, there's a velvet rope railing funneling traffic to a mahogany "offerte" box. What the...?
To each his own though. I had a bad experience that left a sour taste in my mouth. I don't know why I stirred the pot with that first post. If Catholicism does it for you then God bless, and peace be with you.
