I have a PVS-22 on a FN 308 in front of a NF 5.5-22. I have the possible option to get a PVS-26. I am not worried about weight, but which one has the better option for me. The 22 is hard to get to turn on and adjust from behind the gun but has been very reliable and durable. Any input in this matter would be helpful.

While I have never had a PVS-22 I have had a PVS-26 and PVS-30. Like the PVS-30 the PVS-26 is supposed to allow you to go higher in scope magnification. Both have a long reach to focus but I know there are people making levers to make adjustment easier. I liked them both but as you know it comes with more weight and bulk.
I guess the question is do you need to get higher up in the magnification range.

It would be beneficial to have the ability to use higher magnification with better resolution. The 22 is decent but I’m sure it could always be better at higher magnification. Most of the application for myself would be low magnification but there’s always a chance for the need for the higher magnification.
youre not gaining much of anything at all from 22 to a 26. truth be told the cat lens are more effective at light gathering/transmission
