Creedmoor

Can I run Barnes Vor-TX Grendel 115 grain though my Tikka T3X 6.5 creedmoor. Won this Gun excited to shoot it. Only shells I can find right now. Thanks

So you understand now that 6.5 Grendel is not 6.5 Creedmoor? Do a search and you can see pics of them next to each other and see why. Other "6.5" cartridges are the same in that unless it's listed as Creedmoor you can not use it in your rifle.

WTF... Is right all New to me. Now I know!🖕
Only put exactly what’s spelled on the barrel.
Don’t let the barrel get clogged with mud or dirt.
Don’t let it get wet, especially not inside. If it does get wet then dry it down and run an oil rag over everything.
Point it in a safe direction and unloaded until you’re ready to shoot and keep your booger picker off the trigger until ready and you’ll always have a good time.

People behind gun store counters or public shooting range officers have a reputation for being power hungry idiots but they would also more than likely bend over backwards to help you get started safely during the slower week hours and so as long as you don’t show up with 40 other people on Saturday morning there should be someone nearby to help with anything else that pops up right away. Guns are simple machines. Just takes a little bit of doing to become a proficient enough shooter.
You did the right thing asking before doing.

Seriously, I'm not trying to be an ass, but put the rifle back in a box and go get a safety class and a basic understanding of guns. If you've come here for that, I'm sure we'd all be glad to help and I do applaud you for asking the question. Perhaps go get a few books.

Though, this question makes me wonder...Have you ever owned a rifle or a shotgun? If so, put the Tikka back in the box and sell it ASAP. I could forgive this if you were confused about 223, 5.56 and 223 Wylde as well as 7.62x51 vs 308; but not in this case. Also, please note, 6.5x47 is also not a 6.5 Creedmoor. Have you tried to put a 16ga shell in a 12ga chamber? "380" in a "9mm" (or 9x17 vs 9x19 or even 9x18)? Same difference.
Or, go to ammoseek.com and look at the rifle ammunition and that'll give you a good feel for how many flavors of damn near every caliber there is and each has it's own unique brass profile/cartridge.

I could also forgive you for asking the question I may have asked once too regarding the SuperPerformance line of Hornady in an AR platform without an Adjustable Gas Block. That's a bit more of a sophisticated issue since it regards the time vs pressure curve.

Others have said go to a gun shop. Good suggestion; but I'd recommend seeking out an instructor - NRA maybe (though in honesty I've seen more NRA instructors with poor handling skills than one should).

Hey BH05, wasn't sure if that was a real question at first, sometimes there are trolls a foot here.

Better to have asked and found out before having any issues.

Welcome to a good community.
