Only time this happened with me was when I was using the same mandrel on two different cartridges (both .264 bullets though), forgot to reset the die in the press for 6.5 sst, and it did the exact thing your pic shows due to the mandrel bottoming out. Doesn't sound like that's quite what is...
Where are you located roughly, I have a zero coming and was debating on keeping mine or not. Mine is pretty new, but have been impressed with what Area 419 did so going that route. Hit me up if you want pics etc.
I can't help you on getting one, but have been looking for this as well. I think they stopped making it right? I've been looking for about 2 years now because I wanted a threaded barrel. I haven't asked a smith, but do you think they could thread one of the other models, or not enough material?
I got it from EO but they said that the description is probably incorrect. I do have a spinning cleaning rod and bore guide but don’t know the trick. Assume you mark the rod and measure the distance it takes to do a full rotation?
I know this is an older thread, but I recently picked up an axsr in 300 nm and wanted go/no go (haven't shot it yet, but like to check prior). Only place I could find was PT&G (unless Forster etc. take custom orders which I may have overlooked). I've personally never had an issue on several...
Thanks, I basically started over with it and seems to be consistent now. I wanted to keep my front shield closed (ac causes issues with the scale sensitivity when it is on) and pull the cup from the right side. I'm still gonna tinker a bit with it, but haven't found a way w/o the cup hitting...
Can you send a pic of your current setup, I just put all of my parts together and getting all sorts of messed up stuff. The scale is reading the pan/cup at different weights consistently, and I don't have the same adjustment in the trickler which is causing significant over throws.
So the longer throw didn’t mess you up? Or would you say the longer throw doesn’t impact performance unless you are in the top 5% of shooters? I’m definitely not in that group lol, but if it’s the case, might make sense to sell some stuff.
Mine seems to be a little off, but didn’t notice it previously as I don’t use the bezel for anything. As long as the tech and durability are there, that’s good enough for me since those were the primary reasons I bought it.
I’ve got the same rig now, and have the.308 parts on bo too. I’ve got a nice prs setup, but would be interested in hearing from others who do this with the axmc.
Apologize for my ignorance if this has come up, but is there a different mag for the 300wm group of cartridges, or just using the 300 norma mags? I believe the 300 norma case is larger in diameter than the 300 win mag for example (so would the mag lips need to be bowed in etc), but can't find...
