    How far do you want to kill elk at? Generally I pick based on the distance I hunt. Inside 800 go 300 wsm and make it a 8 lb rifle. Over 800 go norma mag, 300 rum or step up to a 338. In a 10-12 lb platform. If I wanted a super light for 500 and in go 308 win.

    You might want to try de-natured alcohol in a spray bottle. Lower cost, less volatile, less fumes, and does a good job. I keep some acetone around for a really stubborn job.

    Impact Precision Actions

    Great actions, I have ran one brand for many years and after using the impact I am slowly weeding out the other actions. Not that there are any problems with the ones I used to use. I just like the Impact more, I can run them faster and they are smoother.
