25 Creedmoor - Best of the Creeds?

What's old is new again but to give another cliche: the devil's in the details. Hornady blah blah, marketing blah blah, optimized twist rates for heavy bullets, mag length bleep bloop blah. Same talking points as the ones we've had for 15 years now about 260 Rem vs 6.5 CM, etc. Hornady has a...

25 Creedmoor - Best of the Creeds?

Morgun King has won a bunch of National PRS matches with his 6.5 shooting heavy Bergers since 2020. I'm not going to bother looking up the matches for you but he's talked about it a lot on his podcast. Here's a good link for current cartridge selection, Cal references the rise of 25's in PRS...

Just Moved to CO, looking for ELR

Yes, just check the Event Calendar to make sure before you make the drive. It is occassionally closed for maintanence and once a month on Sunday morning for the shotgun match that borders the LDPR but that should all be on the schedule. You will need to sign up for a membership and do the...

Just Moved to CO, looking for ELR

Cameo Shooting Complex is also well worth a weekend trip to Grand Junction. If you want to shoot long range steel check the calendar. If you call and schedule at least 48 hours ahead you can do their range that has steel every 100 yards out to 2000 I think. Epic place to shoot.

Just Moved to CO, looking for ELR

The Long Distance Precision Range at Colorado Rifle Club is now seperate from the High-Power range. The LDPR is open and has been for over a year. There are 1,2 and 3 moa targets on hangers every 150 yards from 400-1150 for now. 4 out of the 6 target arrays currently have berms and have the...

    FBI Sniper Rifles

Agreed, might be an inappropriate tangent for the thread but I was looking for clarification specifically to @epeet's comment regarding Recce "standard" carbines not having been very effective past 90-120 yards, thus necessitating a move to 6 ARC. That has not been my experience with shooting...

    Sig Kilo 10K Gen 2

A419 teased the Gen 2 Sigs in their video when referencing the Gen 1's. They also didn't compare lasers at all...which is a pretty important detail in LASER rangefinding bino's. The A419 video was a decent start but what it's really going to come down to is the glass quality AND the laser...

    FBI Sniper Rifles

Can you elaborate on this and cite examples please? Also please elaborate ammo use, LE agency and the specific failure. Military I suppose would be applicable too, but then we're talking about an FMJ, green tip or OTM 5.56 round, not open air or barrier specific law enforcement ammunition. I...

Powder humidity changes inside loaded cartridges

I've been messing with this as well and have found that when I worked up my OCW that it was with powder that had dried out in my hopper (in Denver area during winter). 40.3 grains H4350 and a 140 ELD-M nets 2700 fps after sitting in the hopper and just stacks. 40.3 grains straight from the jug...
