New Kahles K328i

I got one the other week, DLR version.

Wow, what can I say? You're really "drawn" into the optic and the FOV is better than any of the other scopes I have (slightly better than the S&B 3-27x).

I think this will be a good fit for my LWRCI REPR Mk II Elite 6.5 Creedmoor, as soon as Spuhr can deliver a mount. (in a week or so)

Can someone who have hands on the scope kindly share photos behind the scope?

Well, I guess I can.

One of them is the S&B 6-36x EU version.

Area419 just made their 1pc mid-cantilever mount available on their website yesterday... so far it's only the 0moa cant, 34mm height

What do you prefer between the S&B 6-36 and the K328? I’d be really interested in the non-DLR K328 w/ the MSR2 reticle
I think they are different Beasts. 3-28x vs 6-36x, of course with some overlapping.

I will use my LWRCI mainly for hunting, so 328 is better than 526 or 636. If the rifle was for PRS I'd probably go 636, if you see where I'm going?

Don't think the K328i will come in MSR2, or do you know more?

MSR2 is available with the non-dlr version.

Makes sense. I’d be throwing this on a NRL Hunter rifle to replace a ZCO 4-20 so I’m leaning more towards the Kahles. Do you notice a difference in glass quality between the S&B and the Kahles?

In Area419's video, they mentioned they weren't overly impressed with the eye box. And that's a semi-hype video.

So, take that how you will.
Area 419 just posted a new video where they corrected themselves. Apparently they had a prototype that had a flaw, not a rare thing with prototypes.

I didn't really understand area 419's previous statements as they didn't line up with my impressions, but they've got it right on the new video.

Mounted today, and will zero next week.

I tried to compare it with the k624i on my vast property.

you get the idea of the bigger fov on 20x based on the mil scale.

The parallax of the k328i starts at only 20meters, which is nice since i can get a clear picture at the far end of my garden to mount it properly.

I like the azimuth turret on the left side, but the patended twist guard feels akward with the free rotation of the disc.

I had to check the manual to understand its on purpose.

this is great to hear. A meeting in Atlanta 5 -6 years ago is mentioned......is Kahles the only manufacture doing this? Or were there others in the meeting with forthcoming similar products?

Hi all.
Intriguing scope for sure.
I shoot NRL22 matches and am using a Element Theos scope, which I'm very happy with for the most part. However I don't shoot with my dominant eye, and find I like the magnification up a little more than most to make up for this. But that can make target acquisition harder. We only shoot out to 100yrds BTW.

My thoughts on the 328i is that this could allow me to run a magnification closer to 20x and have the FOV of what I would normally have at say 15x on my Theos.

There are lots of great through the lens photos here, but I can't tell what mag they were taken on.
I'm really interested to see how many mils wide the scope is at 15x and 20x, as I can't see one in person.

Would love to hear any thoughts on this.

Cheers

I'm not able to take any pictures right now since it's night here, but i did check for you anyways, hope this helps.

15x = 32-33 mils, just over 16 on each side.
20x = 23-24 mils, just over 12 on each side.

Thank you very much for doing this. That's quite a wide view!

Another question I have is, how is the depth of view ? My current scopes are very forgiving of parallax, and I wondered how this shorter scope might perform.

The depth of view is great at normal precision rifle distances atleast, not sure how it compares to other scopes at rimfire distances, i've never thought to test it out at those ranges honestly.

Kahles has always been an excellent scope. If you dislike chromatic aberration, stay away from Kahles. Other than that, they’re great.
Chromatic abberation is a thing of the past, the K328 is practically free of chromatic abberation, the best i've seen so far.

The same was said by the fanboys, sponsored shooters, and salesman about the K525 but once several were out there it was pretty apparent it was no different than the K624. Hopefully what you're saying holds true once more people have them in hand.

I have both the 525 and 328, both DLRs. It is a night and day difference between the 2 when compared side by side 🙂

Thanks. I guess to be fair, it is a difficult metric to measure, and comparison to another scope is probably a good way to do it.

Hopefully someone with hands on experience with a razor gen 3 or the like, might be able to compare this aspect at sub 100 yard distances.

I'm sure it will hold true, it's a big and obvious difference from most scopes i have tested. I would love to see some comprehensive tests and comparisons done by independent reviewers aswell.

Working on it...

Concamo Ghosthood, OD Green LWRCI Repr Mk II Elite, Spuhr QD mount and K328i.

Not sure I could find a sweeter setup atm.

I am very curious how forgiving the depth is at ranges of 50-225 yards compared to zco 527 or similar.

First of all, I apologize for my translation. My English is not very good and I translate through Google.

I'm looking to change my 525I to get an SKMR4 reticle with which I can better defend myself. I shot a PRS match with the 525 DLR with a friend's SKMR4 and I felt very comfortable. But... I already know of two cases of acquaintances with a 328 who have trouble keeping zero at 100m. One of them finds it difficult to keep it centered and another loses zero every so often and has to be centering it often at the shooting range.

Have any of you heard of something similar happening in the US? Because this "problem" makes me doubt and decide on a 525 DLR since my 525I never gave me any problems since I bought it 4 years ago.

Thank you all very much and I read your answers.

Could this be related to mounts? I have been reading about this scope on every different channel i can get my eyes on and this is the first time i am hearing losing zero.

3 2-day matches and 2-3 1-day matches. Compared it side by side after a local match this weekend with a ZCO 527. I much prefer the 328. The FOV very noticeable between the 2
How is the DOF, eyebox and parallax? I have ran ZCO, TT and Gen 3 razors the last couple years. If its comparable, then I am seriously going to consider one.

DOF is excellent. Parallax and eye box are also very forgiving. A few times on the first stage of the day I’ve ran the scope on 28 power after sight in and been completely fine. I prefer 20 power with this scope. I’ll be getting a second scope in the near future to put on my practice rifle.

What mount are you running?
