Anyone know the screw size for Palma International iron sight mounting plate?

I'm doing an M24 inspired build and managed to get my hands on a set of Redfield Palma irons. Both rear and front.

I got the mounting plate that screws to the action. Even got a 1975 era Rem 700 rifle that came factory drilled and tapped for side mount peep sights.

Problem is that the head of the screw that came with the action is too small to hold side plate on.

This might be a good place to start. I've used them on a RPA trekker sight mount plate on a 700.

Sight bases for that era Used 6-48 screws with slotted heads . Usual counter bore Dia was around .225

You're looking for a 6-48 fillister head screw. Brownells has full kits and 12 packs. You can always cut them if they're too long.

Forster also makes a screw kit that I have used with great results, nothing worse that some of the imported screws that break the head off when tightened.

The screw size is 6-48, sounds like you got plug screws. Filister head is the original, but some places sell them with TORX that ar much easier to use.
