Thy're usually pretty stiff to open and close when new. I take a little bit of mineral oil on a Q-Tip and run it around the inside of the lip on the caps. Helps "smooth' them out a little.

But, the damned things are as close to bulletproof as you'll find. They really are a great product.

Great idea.
I'll do that right now actually.....
Seriously, thank you 😎

Your hard to beat, Mr. Sugar Tit's! 🤓
Will do, sir 😎
Also, at least on the ones for the SB 5-25, they fit really tight (especially the ocular) and are tough to get on. If so,back the screw all the way out so it’s not engaged, and pry the slot open with a screwdriver as you slide it over the ocular. Otherwise you’ll feel like you’re abusing your scope just trying to get it on.

And.......take a look on the side(s) of the caps. There will be a code "embossed" (as part of the printing process) that will specify your particular scope. I received an incorrect ocular cap (mine and another order got mixed up) and Jon had me look at the code on the side (I didn't know it existed). I told him the code and he immediately knew exactly which orders had been mis-shipped. He had a new cap to me within about three days. He was all over it.

I really like his throw levers, by far. I need to scratch some benjies together and order a gaggle.
Unsuccessfully tried to get in contact with Jon multiple times this year through email and website contact form. Anybody got a line beyond what’s in this thread?

Any luck?
Every time I've tried getting in touch, I was able to. He was very quick to get back to me. I also had to contact him a couple other times and he was very responsive
I just saw your post. I hope you were able to make contact.
The throw lever and flip caps are just outstanding quality and performance imo

Nope. No response anywhere.

Not a new experience for me.
If you know what you want, and just place the order, it will show up in a couple of weeks - every time. If you have a question that you need answered before placing an order, that seems to be hit-or-miss. I asked a question about any plans to make lens caps for the SB 6-36 and didn't ever hear back. But I've ordered 3 sets for the 5-25s over the years, and they never showed in-stock at the time, but they all arrived in 2 weeks.

I’m trying to get a new throw lever SKU, or perhaps smarter, a modification to an existing SKU to better fit a sister product. Basically no design works needs done, lol. Just doesn’t care I guess.

FYI: For those of you considering his throw levers on Steiner M5 scopes: I ordered and received one Steiner M5xi 5x25 (34mm tube) Exact Fit throw lever. Excellent 3-D printed item. I emailed Jon before I ordered this to see if it would fit my Steiner M5Xi 3x12 and 3x15 (both with 34mm tubes). He never responded, so I fit it on each when it arrived. It fit perfectly on all three.

^^^Same here. Actually, usually just 2 weeks.
On a different note, he has yet to offer a set of flip-up caps for the SB PMII 6-36. I don't think any of the others he makes are compatible (does anyone know?). I have them on 3 SB 5-25s and they are the best I've ever used (vs Butler Creek, Vortex Defender, and Tennebraex/NF, in order of ascending preference).
