OAKLAND , CA - AUGUST 10: OAKLAND, CA - MAY 10: California Governor Gavin Newsom is photog

New figures from the FBI show that heavily gun-controlled California led the nation in “active shooter incidents” in 2023.
The FBI “designated 48 shootings as active shooter incidents” in 2023. California was the leading state in the nation, having 8 of the 48 incidents, Fox News reported.
ABC News commented on the FBI findings, noting, “California had the largest number of active shooting incidents with eight. The locations of the shootings were open spaces, places of businesses and education centers.”
Fox News likewise noted, “California – which has some of the toughest gun control laws in the country – led the way with eight incidents.”
Breitbart News reported previous FBI data that showed California led the U.S. in “active shooter incidents” in 2021 as well, with six such incidents.
Ironically, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) consistently lauds the alleged success of gun control in his state while criticizing the loser gun laws in states in other parts of the country, such as Florida.
For example, on May 13, 2023, he tweeted, “It HAS to be the humidity. Why else would California’s gun violence rate be 57% lower than Florida’s?”
However, whereas the FBI data shows California led the nation with eight “active shooter incidents” in 2023, Florida only witnessed two such incidents, or one-fourth what occurred in Newsom’s state.

Funny how that works. Imagine if people could defend themselves there. Idk if it would make a difference at this point tho

Cali homes belonging to those who are aware of WTF is going on are probably some of the most monitored and defended properties around. Overlapping smart sensors, motion detectors, multiple HD cameras, you name it... Some are also walled off like the haciendas of the Southwest in the 1800s. These guys almost all have rifles or slug guns loaded and stashed in various places inside and once in a while, somebody FAFO's...

Ya but then the prosecutor comes for them, at least that's how it seems on the outside

You shut your dirty mouth with those damaging facts and statistics. 🤣🤣

Bumping this back up instead of making a new thread. Anyone have good collection of data like this? About “gun violence” / failure of gun control as a whole?

I’ve had some middle of the road friends asking me about gun stuff. I’ve been doing searches to try and find actual info on “pro gun” information if you will, but every Google search just send you to anti gun BS

CDC had to pull their most recent paper that contained defensive gun use statistics as it was politically unpopular as it showed just how common defensive gun use was. Here are a few sources that might help:

This one shows just how biased and anti-gun the CDC is.

Thank you, this is the type of stuff I’m looking for. I’ve heard of CDC info on defensive gun use, but never seen it myself/ can cite it

It was "disappeared" pretty quickly. It makes it real hard to argue against gun ownership when they are used to stop between 300,000 and 2.5 million robberies, rapes, and murders a year.

And I can’t read the Washington post one, but it doesn’t take a genius to tell that the CDC is not unbiased. “Safe and effective” or something like that…

You probably don’t have a source of it by chance ? Or any other good highlights from it ? When it came out etc?

No I don't. By the time I found out about it the CDC had given in to political pressure and pulled the study and data, so now it's all secondary or tertiary sources.

Here is another solid scholarly article by the man who's research provided us with the numbers the anti gun folks went nuts over.

How many people were shot in Chicago this weekend?
Good question. However, it seems for some reason that the major news networks really don't mention the close to almost daily violent murders in Chicago. Could it be because Chicago has the toughest gun laws in the country, or city is run by Democrats? Today's punks and gangs in Chicago make Capone look like a bumbling amateur.

Gos with my first comment. When people protect themselves in commie states the prosecutors try to lock them up

No

In ca you can defend yourself. You are legally presumed to be in fear of your life if someone breaks into your home. It’s difficult for the prosecutor to overcome that presumption. Three incidents off the top of my head: one dude breaks into a former hud home in San Bernardino. The new owner chases dude down the street and shoots him. No charges filed. Another dude enters an open garage of a home in Anaheim. Owner fights him then retreats into the house and reemerges with a shotgun and chases dude down the street and shoots him. No charges filed. Parolee fights off a burglar, then chases him down the street and stabs him with a kitchen knife in LA. No charges filed. Here’s one where I have personal knowledge: 4 white dudes fight a huge black guy at a bar. One gets a buck knife from his car and stabs black guy in the back. No charges filed.

That's surprising to here. Learn something everyday

If it went as written all three are also very unusual cases. The minute an aggressor breaks contact the ability to claim the justification of self defense ends. The only exception to this is if the reason they broke contact was to go get a weapon or some other instrument to help them then reengage.

California does have the Castle Doctrine but it only applies inside the home, chasing an attacker into the street when they are running away would normally get you a lot of jail time.

It went as written and not unusual at all. Everyone thinks CA is fucked up beyond repair. It isn’t. There are some good people making good decisions still.

People, no matter where they live, should familiarize themselves with jury instructions governing the use of force. Because those will be the institutions used to judge them.

Chasing someone down the street and shooting them is an absolute anomaly and NOT the norm. If those cases are true, there was more to it. The worst prosecutor in the world would have a field day with that.

I may start a new thread and see what else
Can be contributed. May be useful for others as well, and maybe even turn into a good source reference. Thanks for the info 👍🏼

There is a difference between theory and practice. Prosecutors have discretion. They are not all bad.

California is also a massive success according to Democrats. It's their model for the rest of America.
California demonstrated to Democrats that they can just import all the voters they need to guarantee total political control. Right now California is "officially" 26% foreign born. Just imagine how strong their grip on power and how shitty America will become once Democrats flood the rest of the country with immigrants.

That is the socialist regimes playback open the borders for the dregs of humanity betting on them voting for whomever they think will give them the bigger handouts. The socialists don't care if everything thing goes to hell because they are in their walled off mansions and can send their man servants out for the essentials. And only visit the upper echelon areas where low life's are not allowed.
