The double standard of “going green”

That was likely paid for by you as well. He got his "tax credits", the companies that built it managed to stay solvent a little longer then Solyndra, but soon it will go the same way. Then one chip will fry and he can replace them all because spare parts no longer exist just like the London busses.

But don't worry his is full of the kool-aid.
Amazing how you can hate on a dude because he installed solar and batteries in his home

Amazing how you can come to that conclusion, and quite typical, you can't debate what I said, so you grab a buzz word, in this case "hate" It could have been any of the others like racist homophobe, take your pick.

It is the attitude.

I don't fault you for drinking the kool-aid, you will learn of your error one day, and like all will not be so quick to scream look at me and see how great I am.

If you look around here you will find where I put solar on my shop myself, so I have nothing against solar power at all. So that was a pretty big swing and a miss.

Solar on the surface of the earth is just a backup, a toy it will never be the answer. Some of the solar people know this, generally the ones that really get down and play with the nuts and bolts of this stuff. The people that sell these systems for the cost of the house financed over 30 years will leave that out. The owners will be very quick to shout about their $7 electric bill that month, but not so quick to say a thing about the payments, increased insurance costs (provided they are smart enough to think about that one) shorter roof life, and the increased costs of roof repair. So many things they don't tell you.

Here is a pretty cool photo I took the other day to show off my system. I should update my thread but I always forget about it when it is not on the first page.

This is how the sky looked the other day.

And here is the power I was "making". I found it so cool that even on this heavy of an overcast day I could still bring in 17v and 6.5a, on my small home made system. Just really wild.

Solar is fun to play with, but I don't want it being the only thing providing the power. It really is a scam.

Welcome to Montana, where the winter is 4 months long and the sun does not shine enough to charge batteries..... More Government waste.

The battery energy storage facility is meant to store power largely from renewable sources — such as solar panels — and will allow for power delivery when the sun isn’t shining.

Yes, these resources should be directed to where they create the biggest bang for the buck. As another example, solar panels are going up all over Germany, where the sun doesn’t shine so much and relatively few in Spain, where it shines a lot. In a perfect world these Discrepancies would be balanced out.

However, just because the yield is lower, does not mean that the installation is a boondoggle. 30 of my 34 solar panels so about 90% are facing east and west instead of south thus decreasing my yield by about 20%. Despite this, I get a decent return on investment.

It does work, it is just not the answer to all questions.

Thanks to a $140 million Series E round that valued Zum at $1.3 billion alongside a more than $26 million grant from the EPA’s first clean school bus program, both coming in January, the company is accelerating key efforts around decarbonization like transitioning its fleet of school buses to 100% electric and expanding its AI-driven technology platform that sends stored energy from EV school buses back to electrical grids.

Ford ends EV dealership program that required hefty investment to sell electric models

Ford Motor is ending a controversial electric vehicle dealership program that initially asked store owners to invest upward of $1 million to sell EVs.

The “EV-certified” program was announced in September 2022 by Ford CEO Jim Farley amid high demand for the vehicles, low supplies and industry-wide optimism for all-electric cars and trucks. That optimism, however, has not panned out as expected.

Silly man, everyone knows that food is made in the food factories in the back of the grocery stores.
I returned home from a successful duck hunting trip and was cleaning the Pintails. Two teenage girls walked by and started gagging. First thing out of their mouth was "I would never eat those".... A while later, after I had the ducks cleaned and in a pan they walked by again and said "Wow, those look just like the chickens in the store". They enjoyed that meal with those Pintails.

Google invests in BlackRock-backed Taiwanese solar developer to boost energy capacity amid AI boom

Google will partner with BlackRock to develop a 1 gigawatt pipeline of new solar capacity in Taiwan, the U.S. tech giant announced Monday as it seeks to boost energy capacity and cut carbon emissions amid the artificial intelligence boom.
The deal will see Google make a capital investment, yet to be approved by regulators, in Taiwanese solar developer New Green Power “to facilitate the buildout of its large-scale solar pipeline.”
Google did not reveal how much it was investing into New Green Power, a BlackRock portfolio firm.
The investment will boost clean energy on Taiwan’s local electricity grid, and help Google reach its goal of achieving net-zero emissions across all its operations and value chain by 2030, the company said.

By a guy who follows the recipe of teevee MacGyver, using local dirt, some duct tape, a mouthful of saliva, and a paper clip.

If I didn't know better, I would call "going green" a consumer daydream. If I buy this car, I'm "green." If I buy this dishwasher, I'm "green." Same folks don't give the slightest thought to anything but whether the item is sold as "green" or "environmentally efficient" etc.

They don't care about whether something pollutes elsewhere, just to get made to be sold as a "green" consumer item. It's like that old saying on taxation. Don't tax you, don't tax me -- tax that fellow behind that tree.

Speaking of going green, there was one of these Tesla Trucks parked near me this afternoon. Sucker was HUGE! Driver got in before I had a chance to say something. Wanted to say, know what, you ought to put on a paint job so it will be different. Thinking “Green” would be a great colar. Glad I didn’t probably would have been quite a fight before it was all over.

However the camp finish does not look that bad, but trying to use camo to hide an elephant, not gonna happen

Some of the cooler more acceptable ways to make it not as bad. Essentially needs a top mounted gun.

( an internet sarcastic )----> YAaaahhhh ...and In the name of ' National Interest ' I am sure the backroom deal is firmly set for the US tax payer to be forced to embrace BlackRock's self serving interest with paying the Bill-$$$$ .

definition of : National Interest
Whatever interest they want, at that particular moment.
.

i wonder if flying our new sub humans to and fro is helping our disastrous carbon problem?
Come now fellow…..Now without getting into racism do consider this. It’s only polluting, or destructive to the environment or a planet destroying activity if it is done by people of North European descent. (Coastal elites exempted of course)
