Gunsmithing Castle Nut Tool Recommendation

As the title suggests, I'm looking for recommendations on Castle Nut tools. I have a standard AR armor wrench, but it chews up the buffer tube threads when torquing the castle nut.

Does anyone know of a tool that won't chew up the buffer tube threads? Hopefully, at a reasonable cost.

Before assigning blame to the castle nut tool you should check buffer tube thread classification 1A/2A / 3A that would be matching the internal B class of threads for the castle nut being used.

The Magpul one is nice from the standpoint of encircling the castle nut to minimize slipping. Also, when using any tool on it, "anchor" the tool by exerting force forward to keep it engaged in the slots.

I own several and the Midwest Industries wrench works best.

More importantly, how are you securing the lower? The NCStar Lower vise block is a great and inexpensive way to secure the lower while using the wrench.

I was using the NCStar tool that aligns the buffer tube on the last two that I was rebuilding when I remade this thread. In the past, I've just used a mag well vise block.
