Is it safe to use CLR for cleaning a nickel boron bcg? I have a number of BC's that are made of nickel boron and was wondering if the chemicals in CLR will harm any of the parts in it. IE - Firing pin, bolt, gas key etc.

Not sure, but I just use either shooters lube solvent or most frequently Boretech carbon eliminator. Just take BCG apart, apply, wait a couple of minutes and wipe or use a toothbrush, come clean pretty easy.

I'm beginning to think using CLR is a bad idea.

I have used CLR for cleaning titanium and 17/4 steel baffles on my suppressors and it works great. I break down the suppressors, put them in a glass canning jar full of CLR and let it go to town for a few days. I think it's pretty amazing how well it removes carbon, lead etc. from the baffles of a .22 can.

What's the point of having a NP3/Ni Teflon "substitute", if you can't just wipe that shit down easily?
It's more so the bolt, cam pin, carrier key and interior of the bolt carrier (With the bolt removed) that I was looking for a short cut in cleaning...

Gotcha. Light use of the 2 Brownell scraper tools, a little bit of carbon remover, wipe dry, apply oil.

5 min max, goal is to remove 75-80% of the carbon and more importantly, apply lube where needed…

Lucasoil CLP has worked well on the nickel boron BCG I have.

No offense intended... but how clean does it need to be ?

I have never bothered to clean my NiB BCGs and parts more then a wipe down and relube.

BTW... what lube are you using ? I heard Hoppes is not meant for Nickel surfaces.... if that includes NiB , I do not know.
