Everything in that article is a lie. Russians are good at propaganda.

They say they do a lot of things. Then when they actually do something like kill 1 tank they parade it around everywhere. Think if they were killing even 10% of what they claim they'd be having daily parades of killed and captured equipment.

Don't forget, they didn't even put enough fuel in their tanks to start this shit and had farmers dragging them off after they were run out of fuel and abandoned by their crews.

Honestly some of the issues were to be expected as most of these weapons were developed for GWOT , which meant $ could be saved , or more $ pocketed , in not having them well protected against EW its not like Taliban or any other xyz opponent had much more than an AK and flipflops at their disposal.

Mass use of US cluster munitions is in many ways due to failures of silver bullet precision weapons.

Interesting perspective from S&S article,... seems it disagrees with some members here.

"William LaPlante, the Pentagon’s acquisition chief, said last month that an adapted weapon “didn’t work for multiple reasons,” including jamming and other tactical and logistical issues. LaPlante did not disclose which weapon he was referring to, but other experts said that he was describing the GLSDB. “When you send something to people in the fight of their lives,” LaPlante said, “they’ll try it three times and then they just throw it aside.”

The implication of the initial story is that the US inventory is at the mercy of Russian technical brilliance...

Do they have point solutions against some systems? Of course. So do we. And we'll upgrade ours. And they'll upgrade theirs. It's a tactical game of Armor vs Warhead and generally the warhead always wins in the end.

Ok... fine. A weapon didn't work. Let's see... How'd those Hall rifles work in 1819?? How about those great 'cannonbalsl joined by chains.' The Chauchat the Marines issued in WW1... that was a winner. The initial issue of M16's with the wrong powder and no cleaning kits? The Crusader? The BAT? The Stealth Comanche... Yeah. Weapons that don't work.

Nobody's saying Russia is stupid. And numbers have a quality all their own (old Russkie Strategy.) But they aren't 10 feet tall. They definitely don't build technological marvels (for the most part.) And our weapons inventory is not obsolete because Boris and Kreblach in some lab have managed to come up with some Whiz-Bang gizmo.

Heck, almost every Soviet system could have been rendered totally ineffective in the 1980's if we'd parachuted in cases of Vodka over their lines....

The whole story is clickbait and more FUD...

Hubris goes hand in hand with degeneration. Facing that things you’ve believed all you life are untrue and that quite possible nothing was at it seems can be quite challeging. Imagine you’d be living in a time when SS agent cant holster a gun, someone shoots in an 100% sure kill scenario a would be president, demented vegetable is president, blackrock fuckers put 12 million puts on trump stock days before assassination attempt and call it typo as they meant 12 and not a squeak from so glorified patriots and how silent majority will be vocal. Frog has been boiled the mere fact that they would target Trump should be enough to warrant immediate special investigations, closure of SS and FBI and extreme measures to identify and put to trial/hanging tree all that were and are part of the plot regardless of party affiliation. lnstead crickets….
As to the ability of Russians it appears they’ve managed to bleed West dry of best soldiers (Ukrops) and most of the “gamechangers” so all that remains are a few hundred jets and LgBTIQZX+- brigade…

One of the factors folks often overlook is that high precision munitions were continually downsized as precision would make up for loss in explosive power , problem that needs solving as whole F35 fighter fleet is tailored to it for internal stowage

GLSDB and SDB are 100kg bombs with barely 14kg of HE , so even minor misses are enough for no effect on target
Russians have same problems as EW is being used by Ukraine as well and their own EW works on own weapons as well, besides having much more shielded GPS units on their glide bombs, they are constantly upping the weight so minor miss is still a hit.

3000kg/6600lb glide bomb being the latest in balancing out any EW induced Error

Not disagreeing with any of that. While there are lots of 'tactical' wins in Ukraine, strategically it is stupidity. And the whole thing is about money laundering and protecting the biggest funding source for globalist BS.

That said, (and I don't have a verification on this) but a couple of folks whose opinions I trust (if I don't agree with their politics) said "We've managed to degrade Russian's military by more than 50 percent using 3 percent of our defense budget."

I'd love to see a more detailed analysis of that. But realistically, it may well be true! Not to mention that we have done untold damage to Putin's credibility in his own country. Not that it matters... he is as much a dictator as any of them, with a veneer of "I was elected." Yeah. So was the Austrian painter.

We should not be impressed with ourselves. Because that's how we lose (and, BTW, the USA has a long history of losing its first engagements before regrouping and coming back). Ernie Pyle said it best in WW2 when he said "We think we can whip our weight in wildcats just because we are Americans" after getting massacred at Kasserine Pass. Well, we figured it out.

But point-source articles from un-known news sources with no valid citations should not have us crapping a litter of lizards. It's click bait, nothing more.

Throughout this war hubris and believing one's own propaganda was the hallmark of the Western approach to this war .

Casualties US officals have been quoting don't add up ,meanwhile Ukrainians with officially 30k casualties are kidnapping folks of the streets to press into service, Oryx armor losses has been proven multiple times to be beyond suss in reporting losses massively overcounting particulary where models are used by both sides. And its also not 3% of US buget as much as its hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian lives that are being traded for coke and billions in Cayman accounts

You literally have 2 reports like two months apart , one where it says the Russian military will not recover for decades to it mostly recovered already.
Note these things are written by the same bunch of dupes that wrote Afghanistan will hold out for at least 3-6 months literally 3 days before it all fell apart. Same folks that wrote reports that Russian war effort is running on chips stripped from washing machines , and announced practically monthly since '22 Russia ran out off missiles ,shells......................

Right. It’s all propaganda. All of it.

So clue me why, US trinkets are so ineffective after the first 60 days of being deployed as a game changer, in the krain.

Because ultimately technology is secondary to the skills and willpower of the men which wield it.

I have no doubt that the Ruskies can field some good stuff. I have no doubt that we've suffered from talent bleed in the US (although it's mostly due to the fact that a bunch of really smart old guys have recently retired, which has much more to do with their birthdate than any DEI crap). I do not believe that the Russians have some sort of magic wand that can be waved which reverses four decades of battlefield dominance.

Russia was never a peer to US , and they have not really seen themselves as such . Russian military budget is akin to US budget for CIA, NATO ,expenditure on armed forces is something like 14x that of Russia and that has been the case for past 30 years. Decades of corrupt oligarchs rule further degraded it , while this comes at a considerable cost , fires of Ukrainian war are cleansing up the whole system not just armed forces.

Meanwhile just as a Reminder on promises that got him elected
