Tac Ops Rifles

Going through my photos and found this one from 3 years ago. Five round group at 707yds with my suppressed Xray51.
IMG_1985.jpeg

In running a 16” .308 (not a tac ops as I are poor).

2516 fps with FGMM 175s.

Also a 16.5” 6.5 manbun that runs a 123 scenar at 2820 fps.

Both are very accurate and easy to shoot.
2640fps shooting 168gr TMK from a 21” or whatever size Mike says it is for an apples to oranges comparison if you want it.

'Bout freaking time Mike! Dang yo. 😘😘😘

Very excited to finally be a Tac Ops Ninja! Got some handloads already prepped for testing. Topping with a Zeiss S5 3-18x in Spurh mount and adorning with other accessories: Vortex LRF, atlas cal, pvs 30, Steiner dbal d2, and a Tac Ops suppressor.

I'll post pics once I have her in hand.

I was going to claim the last km-ops when it was still available but Mike said it would probably be too big for my girlish figure and not be a good platform to potentially deer hunt with. He suggested the Delta 51 instead.

I've had too many guns sit in the safe not being used because they are for one specific thing that I don't do often. Get them out and don't remember what range I zeroed them for because it's been two years since I shot it, or what the dope was or maybe I've forgotten the reticle subtensions. Not good. And I've always liked the saying, "fear the man with only one rifle because he knows how to use it." Fully expect this to be the one rifle I use for everything and know it inside and out.

FedEx can't get here soon enough!

Good call.

I have a small figure as well, and the KMW Sentinel does not fit me well at all.

Enjoy the new rifle! I'm sure you will love the Delta 51!

This isn’t the round that Mike talks about for barrier. This round is extremely accurate. The barrier round uses a bonded jacket. It is literally epoxied to the core. It is also a 168 grain bullet. The case is nickel plated brass. That is how you tell it apart

It is hard to find but occasionally available

LE308TT is the auto glass stuff. T308T or FGMM is the stuff Mike qualified your rifle with.
Ahh thank you!

Their T308T is the shit.
Best open air round for mission specific deployment.
It is the only thing I have ever seen shoot equal to or better accuracy than the GM308M across a broad spectrum of rifles and chambers.

.

Is your Fed ammo marked stock #T308T or T308TTMk2?

You are probably aware but others may not know that the bullets used in the Tactical TRU (Tactical Rifle Urban) are not TMKs as everybody has come to know them over the last few years.

Totally different bullet custom made by Sierra for Federal in 168gr and 175gr just for that TRU line.

The 30 cal. TMKs that have been available for a few years are not traditional "MatchKings" in that they use a totally different ogive profile that is less forgiving. Higher BC but not as forgiving across many rifles and chambers as the old school Match King ogive used on original 168 and 175 MKHPBT.

Federal knows this and even though they have loaded the Sierra TMK, they knew it would not be as consistent as the traditional MK across the market of users. Accordingly, they engaged Sierra to produce a new bullet with traditional MK ogive, do some slight tweaks to the jacket and core to reliably work on meat and then add a blue plastic tip instead of the Green tip seen on Sierra TMKs.

.....edited for spelling because I can't F'ing type.....

If you can find some Roger that ;)

I agree with Terry 100% this ammo is The Shit and shoots as good if not better than the Fed Match 168 BTHP's...
We did a lot of testing at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Enforcement Bureau with glass penetration & deflection , ballistic gel tests , accuracy and hands down it passed with flying colors.

Quoted some of the T308T posts for guys from Terry and Mike, so guys didn't have to go looking. Stuff shoots amazing in everything I've ever put it through.

Fed Tactical TRU308 is a hidden gem. FGMM is good but I’ve had better performance with T308T. I think the 168gr steers people away because the think they need 175’s
Fed actually had an SKU for 175gr version only because a small but loud few thought they should, which was ridiculous. They dropped it 2 yrs ago which was smart. The 168s used in the T308T have a higher BC than 175 MK BTHP anyway.
