Manners Composite Stocks Estimated Lead Times

I posted my poor experience with Manners here awhile back for other members to consider. I had chocked it up to a loss but Tom and Rob reached out to make it right and persuaded me to give them another go. Tom was gracious enough to give me his direct number to ensure my stock shipped free as I had paided to return my last one that did not come as advertised.

I left several messages and was ghosted. As they say "fool me once!" I re-affirm my warning members should think twice before dealing with this company even if your willing to wait a year. You could literally not give me a Manners stock.

I personally had an amazing experience with Manners. I ordered a Pro Hunter on 3/15/24 and received it 8/12/24. Tom even text me and sent pictures to make sure the paint was to my liking. Let me also iterate that I am a nobody in the hunting/tactical space. Just a normal customer. 5 month build time and the only reason it was that long is because I ordered it with one of the new Micro Chassis and those were on back order (from Badger Ordnance I believe).

That being said, I think some models are being pushed out faster than others just due to the resources they are putting into the higher demand models, and the Pro Hunter is one of those models. I couldn’t be happier with my dealings with Manners and Tom specifically. And the stock itself is incredible. It fit my Bat TR action and Badger M5 dbm absolutely perfectly. Doesn’t get much better IMO.

Tom and team are top notch. As much as it perturbed me to wait in my stocks, it was 💯 worth the wait and I’m gonna order another.

Just got y TCS today. Ordered Feb 12th. Well worth the wait! Stock is amazing and got it in the black and blue matte finish. The only beef I have is the adjustable knob for the cheek rest. When I replace the allen bolt with the knob, the knob pretty much bottoms out and I can't give enough leverage to tighten the cheek rest. Anyone else having this issue?

I have the same problem. I have to crank it down ridiculously hard.

Try posting in this thread and someone will probably have an answer/solution:

Yeah. I would actually need pliars to tighten it enouth to get the righ tension. Been looking at competition images and nobody is running them on their stocks. Probably the same reason. I'm surprised they haven't remedied that.
Yeah I have a 3/16”allen wrench in my cleaning kit and another in my range bag.

It would just be nice to be able to do a quick adjust on the fly if needed. For the price of these I’m surprised it’s not easier to do so. Other than that issue, it’s a hell of a great stock!

Why? Would you be changing scopes with different height rings/mounts at the range?

You can try and take an allen and tighten and loosen the screw and work in that fixture in the stock back and forth so it may move easier for you and the thumb wheel may work better.

Should've put it in differenct context. Basically I'm getting my daughter into this sport and handing the rifle to her it would be just easier to adjust without tools. I can try that method of working in the fixture. Good idea.

if you are shooting positional sometimes it's advantageous to drop your cheek piece up/down as needed for proper eye relief positionally.

Nah. Even in PRS. I've had to drop my cheekpiece a few times on a downhill slope for proper eye relief on my manners PRS-TCS and then raise it back to it's normal position afterwards. It's not optimal but it keeps me in the eyebox

Ok. Never had to touch mine once set no matter the shooting position even in a sling.

I understand the need, but I also have exactly the same problem with the knob. Would I like use the thumb wheel, Sure, but right now I just use the t-handle Allen wrench. I can grab one and make the change almost as fast as wrestling with the knob. I also use the printed spacers from @FDMA171 to quickly reset the check rest after removing the rest.

Hey manners guys I’m making spacers for cheek pieces for much less then manners. Let me know if I can help.
