FFP Range, near Jefferson, OH. Friday - Sunday , Oct 4-6. Our only destination on the east coast this year.
This range is a hidden gem. Had a great time here the last three years. Make the drive this fall for instruction and shooting memories you will never forget.
Complete Course in Fundamentals and Gravity Ballistics. You will leave a much-improved shooter with an advanced knowledge of external ballistics and hammer-forged precision rifle fundamentals.
We will incorporate a mover on Day 3 to make things interesting and challenging. Wind will be present. Tripod and barrier skill honing.
$1,200 for instruction, which will be due in early August.
The local lodging and food/entertainment is outstanding. Everyone has a great time. Bring 220 rounds.

    @Enough Said @Lowlight

Marc - sent email last night to get on the roster.

Marc/Frank/anybody - what hotel does everybody bunk in at Jefferson?
Ok, got the fact sheet from Marc and for everybody's info:

"Lodging - Holiday Inn Express, Ashtabula - Geneva, on Hwy 90 at State Rd 45. There
are others close if you see another you’d rather stay at. They have full amenities,
    including a light breakfast."

If you get bored and hungry you can always hang out with me and I'll grill you a burger or a ribeye and I won't even charge you. Just bring some interesting stories, a few amusing anecdotes, and if possible come prepared to discuss philosophy, history, economics, or law.

hope mine was just a email typo as well signed up thought i signed up before it filled up.
I def signed up before it filled up....maybe even the first day it opened for registration.

I'll give it until tomorrow and see. Marc has been in a move from AK to MS and that and these training class comms are probably keeping him very busy.

If I don't hear back by tomorrow, I'll call him but I really don't want to bother him with a voice call if I can help it.

    Cheers

What fix? Did he send out a revised link?

If he sent out a revised link, I didn't get it as he may still have my email with a typo.

Is there a new link...cause PrecisionRifleTraining.net still does not work for me

There is a revised link. I’m hesitant to share it because that’s Mark’s business to send out. I would email him directly or message him through this site.

ya hopefully hear something soon.. need to cancel hotel if im not on the list for this year
Well, Marc is in the middle of a move from AK to MS. If I recall correctly, he said that they were flying out of AK to WA tomorrow to pick up their vehicle and then drive to MS. So...hopefully he will reply to you soon.

I attended this 3 day course and had a ball. FFP is not a fancy shmancy club but it was perfectly flat to 1k so you can get good baseline dope (vs Mifflin which I attended in the past), had great and well marked steel targets out to 1k, and positions to shoot from either a raised platform or ground level.

The mover at 500 was a hoot and a half. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth at 72 (but in the following 2 day clinic there was an 86 year old who must have been born tougher than I've ever been) and have never shot a moving target with a rifle. I thought I'd be overjoyed to hit it (66% IPSC at maybe 3 mph) just once but did indeed have impacts on 7 or 8 shots out of 10. Shit hot!

We had a really fun exercise of engaging the mover at 500, then static at 400, mover at 500 again, static at 600, and finish on the mover. I must be living right because I cleaned this sequence the two times I shot it and was overjoyed.

I'm not a competitor and never will be so this ^^ kind of challenge and acheivement is why I take these clinics. Its great fun, develops great practical skills, and you get to do all of this with a great group of like minded people.

The classroom portion was as succinct, informative, and on point as you would expect.

@Lowlight, @Enough Said, and @Sparky worked their tails off to ensure we got the most possible out of the clinic and they were great fun to hang out with.

For many this is a tune up for competition....for me, eh...its a fun destination event! hahaha

Oh, one other note for anyone thinking of taking a SH clinic....get the Gravity Ballistics app. Its a whopping $5, made collecting your dope super easy compared to pen, paper, and calculator, and you can e-mail your resulting range card to yourself. You can then take it and true your ballistic calculator if you wish.

Its was just well worth it and Frank said they are going to be doing an update to include Quick Wind.

And no....I don't get a sales commission (but should I? lol)
